I have been trying to get the DB-11 back online for hours. Its rebooting so fast I can't complete the process to add a device to IMOU. Don't know what else to try here.

I have six other Dahua cams working without issue... this one appears to be a piece of junk.

Don't quit till you try a different power supply.

I've tried 3 different power supplies. I've settled on one thats getting about 15.5 VDC at the doorbell. Should that be enough?

Its back online. I can't explain it as I wasn't doing anything with it. Got frustrated and went to do something else. Came back and there it is showing up in BI. I changed nothing between the errors I was getting and the success I'm having now - leaving me zero confidence that anything is fixed. Wonder if I have a bad unit?

Breakthrough! I didn't change anything on the DB-11 and it ran fine since my previous post. Really got me thinking about what is causing this. So back into IPConfig I go because I really need to change the bitrate and a few image mode settings. Changed the bitrate, saved, all is good... let it run for while and no problems. I go back to IPConfig, change to image tab, change to Night mode to BW - BAM! - immediately camera goes offline and back to constant reboot mode. Went through factory default process to re-setup the camera and try again. Same results - changes to the Image tab corrupts the camera configuration. So I can recreate the problem at will.

Then I get to wondering why this happens to me and not others. Leads me to wondering if this a problem with the OSX ported version of IPConfig. Go back through factory reset and get DB-11 online. This time I download IPConfig on one of my windows PCs and make changes there. I can immediately tell the software is behaving differently. It worked fine! In fact, it has more options than the OSX version and i've tweaked a ton of things - all without bricking the DB-11.

So in summary, in my experience - don't use the OSX version of IPConfig with this device!! Hope this helps someone.

4096 in IPConfig. Blue Iris is reporting about 470 kB at 25 fps, 2.1M (about the same as the other Dahua Starlights). I was able to push it as high as I wanted in IPConfig but wasn't seeing any further improvements.

2 questions:
  1. Any issues with glare and/or lens flare?
  2. Any way to open the lens (in order to put in a silica gel ball or two to deter condensation)?
Thanks!

I'll tell ya what.. their wiring access in the back of the door bell sucks ass! Why didn't they put a small through, space or something to push some wiring into.I'm coming out of the brick mortar with mine and have no way to run the wiring behind the camera. I have about 1"inch of wire coming out of the brick and you cannot turn the doorbell camera enough to get a screwdriver on it to tighten the screws down. There is no slack in the wires coming from the brick and I aint yanking on it. Back on the shelf it goes.

Dudester I had the same. Ended up pig tailing and soldering the wire. Now everything worked well.

The issue is I’ll have to dig the motar out to embedd any connectors into the brick work since the camera basically is flush mounted to the wall. Just sucks as I didn’t want to tear up the brick work in case this thing doesn’t work. Doesn’t look like they put much thought into the actual wiring of a hardwired camera. If it was battery operated and no wires it would be fine.

Just put some spacers behind screws to give you some room behind plate for wire, that is what I had to do. I also have brick. The door bell would probably not last a week on a battery.

Finally got mine to work correctly after a bit of fiddling. Had to hard reset the thing a couple of times and toyed with the IMOU settings. After all said and done, it's been rock solid on Blue IRis for the last few days and I'm hoping it'll be good for the foreseeable future.

Now that it's working, I think it's worth every penny...

You would need to email support and port forward the http and rtsp ports and provide him with your external ip.

@looney2ns, @spankdog, @Tom Lorek, @Cameraguy, @supre, @luisrodz, @southbay101, and anyone else that has the DB11:

I'm thinking of buying this to replace my LTS/Hikvision doorbell. It's fine during the day, but at night there's horrible light glare. See pics. The unit will also disconnect from the network every now and then. And when the doorbell is rung, the app has problems loading the video.

Are any of you experiencing any of these problems with the DB11 (light glare, connectivity issues, app issues)?

Thanks.
