Dahua HDW5231R-ZE can't initialize

Hi,
The camera cannot initialize using their config tool. Please advise.

Did you try the web interface at http://192.168.1.108/ first? You have to set the initial admin password before other things will work.

Have you downloaded the latest Dahua config tool?

More information is needed. Is the camera visible in the Dahua config tool? What version of the Config Tool are you using?

Per advise, I used the web interface. I will see how that goes. The I will do as @Guido87 and @Qtm suggested.
But yes, the config tool that came with the camera sees the camera.

Make sure you have the latest IpConfig tool from the Dahua site.
If you still have problems, open the camera and reset it back to factory defaults with the reset button.

FWIW, just a few minutes ago I initialized a new EmpireTech HDW2231 and HDW5231 using Dahua ConfigTool v4.09. No problems doing it.

Okay, after using the web interface, the config tool now sees the camera as being initialized.
