Hi,

I am looking for a POE system that includes 4 PTZ cameras with night vision capabilities and also includes an NVR. Message me if you have anything. Looking for new only not used. Thank you for your help!

Well, I have purchased a returned a Lorex PTZ in the past. These cameras had no IR and had color night vision. They could see absolutely nothing in my backyard due to little to no ambient light.

For some reasons the image was not usable at night. Could not see anything in black in white or color mode. These cameras had no IR for night vision.

If you're after great night images get Dahua 2MP Starlight (fixed or varifocal) cameras. You won't be disappointed. Forget about cameras advertised as 32MP with 1000 foot night vision.
Agreed! I just picked up a 2MP varifocal and love it! I can keep it in day/color mode all night with the little ambient light we get. I will be buying more as my budget allows to replace the rest of my cheap-o cameras.

I am coming off the PTZ bandwagon with the more research I do. What is everyone’s thoughts on Q-See? I can get a pretty good deal on a kit at Costco. I am not looking to break the bank just want something with more features than Reolink or Lorex!

Guys, I spent a few moments searching for dahua setups on eBay and Amazon. Can you help me understand what it means when the seller indicates that the camera firmware can not be updated? Why is that? Also I found some dahua cameras with the EZ IP brand. What are these? Is there a way I can tell if the camera and NVR support advanced features like IVS (tripwire)?

Forget about those sellers. Contact Andy @EMPIRETECANDY for a quote on Dahua Cameras: you won't be disappointed.

For most applications PTZ is not a good idea. The camera will be point away from the action. Use multiple turret cameras in place of a PTZ. Go for the 2MP starlight camera.
If the camera is not upgradable then it is a chinese model that has been hacked to english. The chinese cameras are lower quality than the international camera model.

I have used @EMPIRETECANDY , well worth it.

Welcome to the forum.

Please read the cliff notes and other items in the wiki. The wiki is in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Read, study, plan before spending money ..... plan plan plan

1) you do not need PTZ
2) use a 2MP Turret dahua starlight cameras or a 2 MP Hikvision night fighter or https://store.ipcamtalk.com/shop/ipct-hdw5431re-i/
3) if using an NVR use the same manufacture for the NVR and cameras.

You have a lot to learn
