If I change profile when a LONG alert wav is playing, say 20 seconds long, will it stop the playback if no alert sound is selected for that other profile? I hope yes, I think not.

What I want to do: I want an audio warning tone (alarm) on one physical camera that is nearly silent at first, as a warning to disarm, and then very very loud. I just had a noise complaint lodged against me when I accidently thought the darn profile was 2 but it had turned back to 6 after two hours.

I used to be able to accomplish this with ease with TWO cameras, it was simple. Just have a quiet alert on one camera, the loud alarm on the other with a disarm delay and have them mutually trigger alerts.

Why don't you test it? Sounds like you need an alarm system.

Good idea. The things are hooked to a small amp and horn drivers, so I can still hear them inside, even if not at full blast.

UPDATE: It does NOT stop the wav playback. Once initiated, wave playback isn't stopped. For all I know it may be enqueued at the camera itself. Anyhow, other ideas on an alarm that goes soft-LOUD? That can be disarmed? I tried clones, but clones won't send sound to camera. The PC itself is in a bedroom, and it has it's own alarm already. Clearly I'm not going to go get an alarm system installed when I have the resources to DIY.

200 alarm system will be more reliable, and will be able to do exactly this, and allow for monitoring.

Ah, but it won't be MINE. :) I guess I need another camera to chirp for me before the alarm goes off. I won't want to piss off neighbors again.

You do understand that you purchase an alarm and dont rent it. One day, youll get robbed and learn the hard way.

I purchased a DSC alarm system from home security store and installed it myself. Added the envisalink module and it emails me alerts. No paid subscription required. I just added Home Asstant for home automation and that can monitor the envisalink so I can automate lights and such with my existing door contacts and motion sensors. AND Home Assistant can run MQTT which Blue Iris can respond to as well. So EVERYTHING in my house can work together.

I use arduionos and ESPs to automate the alarm system on two doors. Works except I can't get alarms to go to camera speaker. (anotehr thread)
