I've never had an issue with BI, until today.

I was attempting to convert/export a video to an AVI file. In doing so, BI crashed. When I attempt to restart BI, it crashes. I rebooted the PC (Win 7, plenty of HD space and RAM), it continues to crash on startup.

I've searched the forum, can't find a resolution so looking here for help, maybe how to reinstall??

The BI version is 4.8.

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Shawn

Well after spending five fruitless hours trying to solve the specific problem to no avail (the dll MSVCR120.dll), I thru in the towel and did a complete re-install. But before doing so I made sure I had backups of everything before completely uninstalling BI4 and then reinstalling (of course key and activation code needed). Upon reinstall none of my cameras appeared, but at least it didn't crash. Instead, the new BI4 found old registry entries for cameras no longer in existence. Thankfully, the skilled programmers at BI have the "import settings" function on the "About" menu which fully restored my cameras and the multitude of settings which would have otherwise taken me days to recreate.

I guess after so many years of faithful service it was my time for a crash; pretty sure I won't try the export/convert function again. ;)

Where's my beer...............
