CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Cedar Rapids Police Department wants homeowners with private surveillance cameras to register them with the police department with hopes of reducing crime.
Police said the footage has helped to solve and prosecute crimes in the past.
"This new voluntary registration program allows citizens to be proactive in their neighborhoods," police said in a press release.
