I'm about to start using the Dahua product and I want to hear from you guys about this brand, in regards Tech Support, RMA, reliability, pricing. I'll start with a little house installation with model N41B1P.

Your not going to get tech support or warranty from Dahua. However, if you buy from @EMPIRETECANDY you will get a warranty and you can use this forum for tech support.

There's no Dahua Tech Support?
When I do Institutional installs, I get the my gear from USA authorized dealers and they offer 3 years support and can call Dahua USA themselves for support, they just want the S/N to make sure it not from overseas or from a unauthorized seller.

And is a good tech support, i tried installing other brands and their tech support is useless, i want to know if they are well prepared.

So if i buy my equipment at Amazon, i won't get support?

If You buy it from Andy, you will get support from him and everybody here also. Chances are your issues will have been hashed over here numerous times. IPCT is also selling cams and you cannot go wrong with those cams either. The reviews are looking pretty good. However If you buy from Amazon no name seller, chances are you will not get support at all.

I usually start with the Authorized re seller, they usually are very good, I did have to kick it up to Dahua only a time or two and the issues were resolved.

Why is it that you need all this support?

I am a surveillance camera newbie and with the help of this forum, I have 6 Dahua Cameras running on my home system and 3 more going in this week. Once you get the small things figured out adding new cameras is really easy. I found answers to 90% of my questions by reading other postings and a few of them were answered directly from members here. I purchased all 9 cameras from @EMPIRETECANDY and he has been great to deal with.

Is that an auth distributor? I don't want to have problems with the RMA or support.

Just a heads up that IMO the cameras in that kit are using pretty dated technology (4MP 1/3" front illuminated image sensors + IR rings).

Dahua makes cameras with newer tech that do significantly better when it comes to low-light image quality (in case you were planning on using these cameras outside of your house). Read up on their "Starlight" model of cameras.

Also read through the posts in the Dahua sub-forum here. Dahua Starlights have been the most popular models for the do-it-youself folks here for the last two years, ... there is a ton of useful information/reviews on different Starlight models here, as well as information on how to get your hands on these models (many of which aren't sold via US resellers).

The link works for me. I didn't try to download it because I previously did to my desktop PC, but it opens and I can scroll all 51 pages on my smartphone.
