NVR5216-16P-4KS2

I just added some new Unifi equipment (managed switch, CloudKey, & access point). Each time they would boot, "some" would get bum IP addresses in the 192.168.0.XXX range - making it impossible to bring them into the network. My router is setup to give in the 192.168.1.XXX range.

The "some" means it was always different... Sometimes a device would get bum address, other times not. I could find a rhyme or reason. But always some, or all, would get a bum IP address.

After a bunch of trial and error, I've discovered if I disconnect the NVR from my network, The Unifi devices get valid IPs and everything runs smoothly. I've tested this 6 times or so.

The NVR has been chugging along without issue for 2 years or so.

Can anyone offer any advice on what I could look for to cause the NVR to mess with the IP addresses? Going through the setting, I see nothing that would hint to DHCP service, or similar. I am at a complete loss...

Thanks!!

Sounds like possibly the router and NVR might both be providing DHCP. If the NVR were serving DHCP and you have camera port(s) connected to the switch, and the switch connected to the router, and router is also serving DHCP, I'd think that would be problematic.

How do you have the router, switch, and NVR connected together?

Router/pfSense>Unifi Switch8 60W>dumb switch>NVR+everything else.

I haven't yet found a setting on the NVR that provides DHCP on this side of the network??? But, I'm hardly an expert. Super weird...

I really appreciate the help!!

It's not one of the 16 POE ports. It's the other one, that's by itself. I can't really see behind it, to see if it's labeled...
