We are going to try out a couple of these DH-IPC-HFW4239TN-ASE bullets. Right now they are only coming in a 3.6mm and only coming in a bullet or dome form. We went to a local expo where Dahua had a booth set up. They had one of these under the table in a box with a curtain over it and it was showing a pretty good picture. I'm curious to see how they perform in a driveway. I'm also excited to fiddle with the alarm inputs and transmitting over network to a NVR.20190321_113135.jpg 20190321_113125.jpg

We tested them in our command center for a few weeks and I was going to put them up at my house, but a job came up where we needed to add PIRs to a remote building with several cameras and send everything back to the main building via Ubiquiti nano stations. They should be up in the next week or so. They will be in a dark area so they should be put to the test pretty well. I'll post some pics.

There's a slightly different (older?) version (IPC-HFW4239T-ASE) available in 2.8mm and 6mm. To really use these effectively for security, you need street lights or other always-on visible light. But if you don't care about identifying moving things, you can crank up the exposure time to 1/3 second and then they make amazing weather cams even in dark environments, if there is any light at all. They see better at night than people do.

We did a night survey of the property where these are going, last night. It appears that there is quite a bit of light from some new LED lights and the neighboring buildings.

Are the various 4239s in the latest Dahua catalog somewhere, called out with Full Color technology? I do not see them. They seem like a good option for several conditions.

Any thoughts to why they do not appear in the latest catalog?
