I am confused as both I and Aocam recommended a 24V transformer but you want to try a higher amperage 16v unit.
I had called the manufacturer of the chime (before seeing your posts) and they said not to use 24v on it. :idk:

Is it an electronic chime?

And thinking out loud, is there any way to use two transformers with some kind of rely to trigger the chime? 24VAC for the doorbell camera and 16VAC for the chime would seem to be ideal.

I am using the doorbell chime ring to trigger a 24VAC relay (DPDT) and if you used a solution like this you could easily do it. The relay in my case triggers a sensor on my Home Automation system and triggers this MP3 player to play the ringtone of my choice over a non-powered speaker.... (as I have different recordings for the different doorbells pressed)

That's awesome! I thought I was nuts since I have MimoLite connected to my chime to send dorbell notifications via SmartThings and phones, but also and Google home announcement (Raspberry PI Google Assistant Relay). But your setup is cool too!

No mechanical. Perhaps there is a good way to reduce the voltage in-line?

Has anyone set this up with TinyCam? If so what settings did you use? Thank you.

Hi all,

I bought the Uniden branded version of this doorbell. After going through a couple of issues (constant reboots, which was my doorbell circuitry that was only 12 VAC, then came the hunting down for the transformer) I got it running!

Using the Hikvision app for now and so far mostly happy with it. The RTSP streams and web ui is great as well.

Now the only issue left, and a possible deal-breaker, is the volume of the speaker on the unit. Was testing the 2-way audio with the GF and found the volume to be lacking. She could hear me well on her phone, but I couldn't hear much from the doorbell. Tried boosting the volume to the max (its at 10 now) and I believe it made a small difference, but it's still super quiet. I need to be standing right beside the doorbell and even lean down to hear anything. And if a car passes by in the street, well the other person needs to repeat themselves.

As the main reason for getting one of these is the ability to talk to people (and turn them away) it is kind of important to be heard...

Anyone have a similar experience or find any fixes for it? Do I possibly just have a defective unit?

I had 3 of these turds and I experienced the low volume as well on every one.

The deal breakers for me was the glare from the IR on the dome at night, unreliable doorbell control/ringing and the habit of the doorbell to drop connectivity to the app after 24 -48 hours until a doorbell power cycle (but the ultra slow app performance was also a factor).

My fix for it was the garbage can and purchasing the RCA HSDB2A (which worked better in the first 2 minutes than this model ever did).

I took mine down to clean the lens cover but when I reinstalled it and turned the power back on the mechanical chime started ringing continuously and the doorbell camera doesn't appear to boot up. It has been working fine for about a year prior to this. Any suggestions or ideas what happened? Here's a video of the chime. Thanks!

I am having trouble with notification. It works for a bit, then the Motion Detect gets unchecked on Web Gui. I have it connected to my NVR on constant recording. Is the NVR what triggers the motion detect box to be unchecked?

I have a LaView with firmware 1.4.62 build 180419. Has anyone upgraded the LaView? If so, how is it done?

UPDATE: I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced the unit under warranty. The new one doesn't cause my chime to ring non-stop.

Also, I followed the instructions from an earlier post in this thread to physically disconnect the IR wires and I'm now getting a much better picture at night:

I have the U-Bell DB1 with 171225. The unit I received always show the "storage status" as "No Memory Card" in the Hik-Connect and Uniden One apps. However, I can playback timeline videos but the individual alert playback buttons are gray with no function. Uniden support had me full format the SD card on my computer and "restore all" the U-Bell via the web GUI but no go. I even replaced the 8Gig card that came with the device with a Samsung 32Gig without improvement. Uniden is willing to fix it under warranty seeming convinced it is a problem with the SD slot. It's funny though that the unit is writing files to the card (verified on my computer) and I can playback the timeline even though their is "No Memory Card" according to the Hik-Connect and Uniden One apps on my iPhone. The IVMS-4500 app allows me to playback alarm videos.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced these phenomenon. I'm tempted to load Nelly's 180726 firmware to try to fix this but afraid it might void my warranty. The turn around time for the Uniden "fix" might be a month.
