How can I make a Panorama PTZ? The web interface doesn't show the button? How can I enable this or doesn't have this camera this feature?

That function is going to be for a multisensor camera or a fish eye camera and doesn't apply to the camera this thread is about.

Hello

I'm experiencing trouble to get mail notification set properly with this camera.

The camera won't send any email with Gmail and Outlook.com account.

DNS are set and the gateway is too in "Network" -> "TCPIP"

i tried Gmail but when i press 'test' button, once the config is saved : no chance, no email sent.

Did i miss something ?

For outlook.com, i should set as follow but it seems StartTLS is not available in SMTP (email) tab.
SMTP :
smtp.office365.com
Port : 587
STARTTLS

So i also tried Gmail but when i pressed 'test' button, once config was saved, but no chance no email is sent.

Did i miss something ?

For the folks that have had this camera for a while. Would you recommend it still?
How long do you estimate it will last? I really like the design, but don't want to be buying another in 2 years.
BTW, what is the warranty on these?
Thanks,
Tampy

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Would the experienced folks here say that a PTZ is not as long lived as other cams?
I have read several threads regarding the wisdom of using multiple fixed cameras instead of a PTZ. (mostly related to coverage)
My use case is a bit different as I want to be able to look at the views near our cabin remotely. (not necessarily for security purposes) So quality picture, wide fov (without distortion) and longevity are most important.
I cannot plan to replace a PTZ every 2-3 years. (at least I do not want to)

Somewhere in the space/time continuum
To be clear, none of the ptz functionality ever failed on any camera. Only the ability to zoom to a specific preset.

In my case, I have blue Iris go to 5 different presets and snap a picture every day. I then stitch the pics together into 5 diff time lapse videos that cover a year in about 13 seconds. Any preset that requires a zoom doesn't zoom in. It stays at that level. I am able to use the zoom manually, however.

One pet peeve is precision of the preset recall. No matter the zoom level, the camera never seems to go back to the exact same point. It's always slightly off causing a headache when I stitch the photos together.

As for FOV, it does OK, but it is doesn't get very wide . I don't recall what the minimum focal length is (maybe 8mm?), but it is noticeably more zoomed-in than the fixed cams I use for overview.

There is also quite a bit of blueish hazing on full optical zoom, but not enough to disqualify it.

Night vision is grossly overexposed. And while you can manually adjust exposure, it is then too dark for daylight use. And there is no way to set day/night exposure profiles. I don't record at night so that doesn't affect me.

I don't want to be unfair to Sunba. My problems seemed to surface after big lightning storms, so it may be bad luck or problematic installation on my part. My cat5 runs are long (100+ feet) and not shielded or grounded.
Sunba? Erkme73 is talking about the PTZ1A225U-IRA- that's made by Dahua.

Mine has been very good so far. It does not Pan very fast, but for most, it's fast enough. The only big negative I have run into, is chromatic aberration. It can be really bad with certain angles when facing towards the sun.

In my environment, I have external IR to light the area(s) covered. So, I don't use the built-in IR at all. At night, the image is as good or better than the fixed turrets (5231) that I use for overview purposes.

Oh boy, what a mea-culpa... I am so sorry, @Tampy. I'm so glad that @weigle2 pointed this out. I don't know what mini-stroke I had when I first started responding, but I had in my head (and was describing) my Sunba experience. Quite frankly, I don't know why I even received a notification on this thread since I don't own this camera! (doh!)

I must have asked a question pages back. Very embarrassing. FWIW, I have 4 Dahua PTZs, and all of them work like new (though one struggles to change from night to day but that's a minor issue thanks to BP2000's script that changes it based on sun rise/set). Sorry to waste everyone's time...

You might want to edit your last few posts to remove the confusion. You're getting alerts because at some point you replied to this thread.

Hi guys,

I've had this camera for 10 mos now and it's been used mostly for my backyard so haven't really paid attention to it. Out of sight out of mind lol. So now with an uptick in crime in our area, I'm trying to refine daylight / night time as well as person tracking settings. Tried to match settings with my other Dahua camera and can't seem to get clear pictures/videos. Can you guys kindly share your configurations ? @Parley , I've seen your videos / photo captures and mine looks nothing like that since I got it :-( I'd like to do everything I can before I say somethings wrong with it. Thanks

I am using the factory settings except for the frames per second. I also have the IR shut off as I do not need it.
