Hi all!

thanks for the welcome. I have already read the Wiki cliff notes , and a whole bunch of searches. Already contacted Andy and even got some quotes on some Dahua Cameras.

I actually ordered a Lorex system before i even discovered this site, and yes I already read and searched alot of Lorex topics in the forum. I Know most of the answers to the questions I am going to ask will start and end with....did you read and search the forum yet??

I got a pretty good deal (I think so) on BF, and the Lorex system should arrive tomorrow.

The system I ordered was about 848 usd , delivered.

Its a 4k system with 6 bullet cameras ( I ordered 2 more bullets after). I think even though its a lorex system and I wont be able to use IVS or advanced features, the price is decent.

NR9082X nvr
LNB8921BW (6 of these)

4K Ultra HD IP NVR System, 8 Channel, with 4 Outdoor 4K IP 8MP Cameras, 200ft Color Night Vision

Below is what Andy Suggested for me which would cost more than 850 usd for sure and 2 less cameras.

From Andy
====================================================================================
For the front door with good light, there has 2 models you can use.
8mp has sharper pics in the daytime, and these 2 models can work great in the night vision too.
IPC-HFW1831E
IPC-HDW5831R-ZE this one with Audio and turret model.
The backdoor which has low light, use IPC-HDW5231R-ZE is the best choice.
For the NVR use NVR5208-8P-4KS2 price this is the good model for 4k and 2mp starlight.
===================================================================================

What do you guys think? Return and buy from Andy? Also does anybody know or put an educated guess on the Dahua model for the lorex NVR nr9082x and the bullet cams LNB8921BW?

RETURN. BUY. FROM. ANDY. :)
Haha I’m strongly leaning that way since I prefer Turett style and not locked down hardware. I just need to convince myself to walk away from the lorex or maybe flash the NVR to dahua firmware if it’s possible on NR9082X.

But 848 usd for an 4K NVR with 6 4K bullet cams is good value for money isn’t it?

It’s basically 120 usd per component in the system.

You’re a newbie who’s been seduced by specs that don’t tell the whole story.

@ScooterGeo back in the fall I ordered 3 IPC-HDW2231R-ZS cameras from Andy. I placed the order on a Thursday, which he would have received Friday morning. He shipped the same day, and I had them in my hands the following Tuesday.
