Hi,

I have BI setup as a service and am saving files to my Nas. I noticed that the main hard drive of the BI system was full & it looks like it has been saving files to the nas & also my local folder.

How can I make it so it just dumps all video files onto the nas drive without deleting older files on the NAS?

Thanks,
Rich

Configure it that way.

From your pictures your configuration is completely wrong.

Look at the status (3 bar button) and the clip storage, to see your current allocations
At the system (gear button) configuration, clips and archiving tab, set the size for the new (bi drive) and stored (nas drive) space.
Never base storage on days, only on space.
Only allocate 90-95 % of the total available space to BI. never allocate 100% space to BI.

Bi will always use 100% of the allocated space for storage, if configured correctly, files are added to NEW, then moved to STORED, then Deleted.

You have the new folder move the video to the new folder when the new folder is full, WRONG
Have BI monitor the space, if not, I am not sure what will happens when it fills up.

Either have the new folder on the C drive and move the video to the stored drive the NAS.
Or have the New folder on the NAS and not use the stored folder at all.
You do not have enough space allocated, your need at a minimum for any normal camera set up 1TB (1000 GB) of space allocated.

Hi,

So I think what I want is to have BI dump all video files to the Nas - no where else, never delete anything - I will deal with it if it is full.

I am not sure what the option should be for the Move to Folder - I dont want to move it at all. I figured if new is full & it moves to New it wont move it anywhere?

I dont want a stored option but am not sure how to remove it. All in 1 folder is fine with me.

Thanks,
Rich

BI has to delete. What is it going to do when it files fill up, crash.

To do what you want set the new folder on the nas, do not define a stored folder. Assign a max storage size to about 90% for the free space on the nas. Select delete on the new folder option.

I personally would not store directly to the NAS, it as a reliability issue. A nas is or as a backup device, but not as a primary real time storage.
