Look in the log file to see if there are any hints about what is wrong. It should be located where the exe is.

Soooo question... I have my lon/lat plugged in and verified via google maps.

My current sunrise/set is 7:08am/7:47pm

But in the utility it shows 4:08am/4:47pm ... what am I missing here? I've uninstalled service, reinstalled and still showing 4am/4pm... I guess I can just do the +3 offset but odd its not updating correctly

I tested it out and selected a lon/lat in Cal and it was correct... I switched back to mine and it still shows 4am...

@bp2008 Thanks for this tool. I have it installed, configured two cameras and communication is working since I can get the focus/zoom info. However, when I try and test rise/set, nothing happens. What am I missing?

Finally decided to give this tool and try and I'm stuck with the same issue.

Y’all are putting the camera out of focus (or changing the zoom) before testing?

No, I'm not even using the zoom/focus settings in my config.

I'm trying to get this working. Can someone please tell me what Profile Management... Normal, Full TIme, Schedule or Day/Night to select and what Day & Night Condition mode... Color, B&W or Auto should be selected.

I currently have my cameras set as FullTime and Auto. My cameras are changing modes from Day to Night etc. but I'm not sure the utility is doing it or the camera setting is. How can I test/confirm the utility is?

Thanks

Run the utility and hit the simulate sunrise or simulate sunset buttons and see if the cameras profile changes.

What are some of the settings differences you configured between the day/night profiles on the camera?
It's working now. I reviewed the Day/Night settings like you mentioned and found Day/Night mode was set to Auto for each instead of Color for Day and B&W for Night. I now see the cameras change when simulating sunrise/sunset. Thanks!

I am not sure what I am doing wrong but under hostname I have the camera ip address for ex 192.x.x.x:port number. However when I click Get Current Zoom/Focus nothing happens. Do I need to set anything special on camera side ? It is working for one camera. but not for other. Also when I click on Simulate view sunrise sunset apps seems to be hanging.

Also on the log file it says

The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Anyone having nothing happen when clicking the simulate sunset / sunrise buttons most likely just needs to go into the camera's web interface and manually its schedule to "full time". This is a control over near the image settings where you configure the day and night profiles.

It sounds like you entered the user name or password wrong. The simulate actions happen "on the UI thread" which means that yes, the application will appear to hang while it waits for the camera to respond to things.

My username and password is correct also the ip address and port is set to correct. I think this is something to do with the firmware. So I am using IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E

and it is on System Version2.622.0000000.23.R, Build Date: 2018-03-30.

It is from Andy. Not sure if I am on latest firmware and if that is what causing this.

On the sunrise/sunset app, have you also "configure service" so that it is running?

So it turns out I needed a new firmware on the camera DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000005.0.R.190325.zip

This firmware also has added day/night profile instead of Just Day or Night. Will see how that one is working. Anyhow on the other hand this firmware also resolved the issue I was having with Dahua/Sunset sunrise application on windows. Thank you. I am going to play with these settings over couple of days to get the camera dial to do some LPR stuff.

Thanks bp2008 for this, its switching profiles for me.

How do I go about ensuring the NIght profile is ALWAYS manual IR? I thought it was a case of just going into the camera and setting IR to Manual. Then for Normal/Day, setting IR to smart and hitting save. Seems it has one IR setting or the other, not different per profile.
