Hi guys,

just setting up a new system. Installed blue iris, and it will not start when I install the 64 bit version - however The 32 bit version will start.

I get this error message when I try to start the program:

"the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)"

I did a search and seen someone else had the same issue. running it from the .exe file fixed their issue but in my instance I get the same thing.

have reinstalled twice, same thing.

blue iris version 4.0.0.0 file version 4.8.6.3 downloaded from Download Blue Iris

system:

i5-4590
8GB ram
windows 10

Thanks in advance for any help.

Download and install both the x86 and x64 versions of the Microsoft visual c++ 2013 library files

Was just curious if there was an updated troubleshooting thread for this issue. I’m not having any error codes but just built a new PC for BI specifically and the software just won’t start. Last thing I see is the splash screen that says “Creating Window” then it just goes away and nothing starts. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling both BI and windows 10, updating the motherboard bios, downloading x86 and 64 bit C++ dependencies, checking the task manager to see if anything was running (it was not). Machines specs are as follows:
Intel i9-9900k
16GB DDR4 3600 Ram
Samsung 500GB SSD
Windows 10 64 Bit
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help, I will also email support.

Finally figured it out, hope this helps someone in the future. If you’re ever reinstalling BI or a brand new install on a new PC and it won’t go past the splash screen, it appears it was the current version available for download at didn’t want to install on my fresh windows 10 install. Unfortunately, I had to resort to a google drive archive of older releases (I have them saved to my server now) to roll back to an August 2021 version since I couldn’t seem to find any official archive anywhere. The only difference I noticed after a 3rd attempt at reinstalling Windows 10 and BI was, after the splash screen, the console loaded and a Windows Defender prompt popped up wanting me to allow access on the local private network. I don’t think the most recent available version on their website was jiving with Windows Defender or something. Anyhow, that fixed it for anyone else wondering if they experience the same issue. Feel free to DM me if you need any previous versions I have saved to the server.

Right on yeah, my problem was I couldn’t even install so the updates were useless to me. I needed the full installer to work from the get. I should have stated more clearly, I was able to find several archived updates, but those would have only done me good if I had a bootable version of the software installed. Unless I’m missing something here…thanks!
