Hello all, new to the forum and looking forward to learning from everyone's experiences.

I have a Hikvision DS-7608ni se/p NVR that was in storage until a couple weeks ago after being used at a retail location back in 2016.

The Firmware is outdated and thus Hikconnect is not usable. I have downloaded all of the legacy firmware available on the website, but apparently according to the techsupport there...there are two updates prior to the legacy firmwares they host that are no longer available through them

Longest story short...does anyone have their own repository of firmware upgrades released for this device that may be able to get me the firmware I need to upgrade in sequential order?

I'm looking for firmware older than the revisions below...

DS-760xNI-SE
LAST FIRMWARE:
DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_V2.3.12_160622(support_4MP)
Older Versions:
DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_V2.3.11_150625
DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_v2.3.10_141128
DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_v2.3.09_140820
DS-76xxNI-SE(P)_USA_Firmware_v2.3.8_140513
DS-76xxNI-SE(P)_USA_Firmware_v2.3.7_140122
DS-76xxNI-SE(P)_USA_Firmware_V2.3.3_130620

You only need to upgrade sequentially through the major firmware versions so if you're currently on a V2.3.1 for instance you can go directly to V2.4.0 (or whatever the earliest available V2.4.x is) and on to the latest version (in UK it's 3.0.22 from memory) You don't have to load every single minor version.

You got one thing correct when you said "Hikconnect is not usable"! I won't personally use it myself or for any of my customers, preferring to stick to iVMS-4500 which is far more user friendly. I just use a DynDNS account on the NVR to update the dynamic IP address and if that's not an available option on the firmware you have, use the router to update the DNS where required.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that it was only the solid versions and not the complete sequence of releases. Apparently their tech support also does not know that either. *sigh*

Still, I have version 2.3.3 so apparently I can go right to 2.4 and there is no 2.4?

“SOLVED”
Help needed to unbrick Hikvision NVR.
Hi all, I have an old NVR Model: DS-7608NI-SE/P . I have read up on how to read the serial number which is in the attached image together with the firmware version it had on before I buggered it. I have tried to upload the US version software above via tftp but it got rejected and then bricked the bastard. So I can only assume because my serial number have the RR it means region unspecified and thus I have to change this firmware file somehow to show as RR or region unspecified? Would my assumptions be correct and if so I just need a bit of guidance please.
I did not keep a backup of the attached old firmware.. yeah I know that is smart. Thanks in advance

I've been trying to find firmware update for it.
What's the current version of firmware?

This may be the firmware for your NVR :

From one of the release notes - but not very useful :
[Hik-connect ]
Support Hik-Connect function, please notice only domain name service is supported.
Functions like playback, live view and alarm push with Hik-Connect server are not supported
