Ok so I thought his connect was going to be a breeze and that I would ust scan QR code and away we go.. not the case, can anyone shed some light on the function of hik connect or Ivms-4200 or one of the other hik apps??

I am trying to connect to our NVR whilst out and about on our smart phones.

innitially we managed to get one phone connected remotely to the nvr, this phone was receiving notifications and everything was great.. until we tried connecting another phone and now we can only get phones to view the cameras whilst on wifi on same network as the camera. I find this strange.. I have read that I need to do some port forwarding but why did it work for a bit and now isn't working?

ive had a nightmare with Hikvision please help

Try to login (using Internet Explorer) to hik-connect.com and add the NVR that way. Use this thread to figure out how to decipher the serial #

mike I've tried every which way I can think of to register.. my most recent problem is that the QR code and verification code don't match

I just keep getting incorrect verification code

This is what I don't get.. we have had the apps working with no port forwarding but now it is not working

This is what my port forwarding options on on my router, it looks a bit different than what I've seen on the tutorials can anyone guide me in inputting the correct numbers into the correct boxes.

Any help much appreciated..

When you setup Platform Access on the NVR you must use the verification code you set there. On the hik-connect.com website, after you click add it should find the NVR and request that verification code. If you can't remember it, you can enter a new one. Once the NVR is loaded all cameras connected to it will appear in the mobile app.

You have to set the verification code via the NVR itself, not via a website. Hook up a monitor to the NVR and grab the code there...Or, login to hik-connect or https://ius.ezvizlife.com/user/userAction!goToMyShipin7.action, go into System Management, click the NVR, then on the bottom under Device Security Status, click it to Off and you will receive an email with the code.

Should this hik connect be as simple as scanning the QR code on my on NVR, inputting verification code and that's it connected?

Let me verify I can see the stream via WiFi but not remotely

Again Mike I have my verification code from my NVR

Hi Mike the link doesn't seem to work. The DVR is a ds-7608ni-e2/8p and my camera is.

You are scanning the correct QR code on the nvr are't you? If you scan the wrong one it just gives a local ip so only works when you are within wifi range.
The correct one is menu-configuration-network-platform access.

Probably wrong, but I've done it before :)

Yes Piere it's the only QR code to scan. Taking it from platform access . Is there a chance NVR and apps are conflicting?

I had this issue with a brand new NVR out of the box... I ended up having to re-flash the firmware on it, then the cloud stuff started working properly.. Also always double check that you are using 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 as the DNS entries in the config... using your local ISPs DNS servers are a big no-no.

Thanks corkangel I'll try that. I think I set the DNS to those. So do I need to port forward or should it connect on a smartphone on 4g?

No, make sure that uPnP is turned OFF on your router, and you do not need to port forward when using HikConnect.

Ive managed to get past the verification code, it seems to work when connected via wifi but says incorrect when trying to connect through 4g. hope the firmware flash works. im going to also upgrade my camera firmware to the most recent aswell.

Use IE11 and connect to the web-GUI of the NVR. Try upgrade via Configuration>Maintenance
Check here for the latest version of your NVR firmware.
