Hello,
Has anyone had the opportunity to try both security systems ? Granted I'm sure most pick one are the other.
I need to purchase a security system and was looking for input. I like the fact of several zwave components working with Abode system. Like the slick door sensors. Versus the traditional sensors. Ring does have a lower intro price. $169 vs $229, Ring has the lower Price point per month. Any input would be great.

Ring is a better system and much cheaper monitoring.

Okay, I really wish they would use
Recessed door sensors . Plus glass breakage sensors. They seem to be lacking in the Variety of sensors. The Traditional door sensor/window sensors they have look pretty bad. From a Cosmetic standpoint. Granted security system it shouldn’t matter. Just saying.

There are lots of other systems that have those available...you just need to pay more for the system as well as in monthly fees in perpetuity.

People increasingly choose to self monitor.

There are endless choices in systems. But if you want to use more advanced sensors you are going to need to buy a professional panel or use a home automation hub.

All types of security sensors like glass break and advanced motion sensors can be integrated into a z-wave (or zigbee) mesh network. Like setting up a security camera system you need to define your goals as well as decide how much of a hobby you want to make out of the project.
