Yes.

Can you ping the cam?

Have you tried the find/inspect in BI?

well one other "shot in the dark", are you using the logitech commander program at the same time?
I have found these cameras have trouble supporting more than one stream.

Is Hardware accelerated decoder set to "no" on video tab?

I've tried that, same error. That's how it's set now. Any chance it's a port issue or a router setting?

Well assuming you are running the commander software on the same PC and it works, probably not.
I'd factory reset the cam and go back to the default admin/admin user/password. You could try vlc on the pc just to prove rtsp but it looks like BI found the port fine.
So I am guessing user/password.

Confirming RTSP is 554?

Sorry but often on this forum someone will stumble in to a thread and know the answer.

You would really be better off selling it and getting a nice Dahua starlight. Huge difference. You could probably still use the Alert power supply if you don't want to run wires (recommended)

Good Luck!

chetwynd, I think I can help, I have Logitech Alert cameras working in Blue Iris. You will need to use the Commander software and run the diagnostics to get the IP address of each camera. Then go into your router settings and reserve that IP address. You have to do this in the router since the Alert cams are meant to be plug and play so you can't set a static IP with the Logitech software. Once you have this information, add your cameras to Blue Iris. In earlier versions of Blue Iris, the Commander software needed to be running to initialize the Logitech powerline adapter before the cameras would show up in Blue Iris. I don't think that is the case anymore, as my cameras will show up in Blue Iris without the Commander software running. Your results may vary. If you use power the cameras by some other means rather than the powerline adapter (POE switch for example) then there should be no initialization issues. If you have your powerline network secured, then that should be the user/pw entered. If not, you should only have to put "guest" in the user field. Try these steps and reply if working.

And NoloC is correct. I have 2 indoor Alerts, but you can use the powerline adapter for other IP cameras. I have a Hikvision cube running thru a Logitech adapter. I do not know how much power it supplies though, I could not find any specification sheet for the adapter. The adapters are Homeplug AV 1.0, so you'd have to make sure the camera bandwidth does not exceed the adapter specifications. Comtrend also makes a powerline adapter that supplies POE, the only manufacturer I have found to date that has this. It would be a cleaner setup than a powerline adapter and a POE injector. Please note the Comtrend adapter is for indoor use only, so you'd have to use a flat network cable, probably running thru a window, to your outdoor camera. All of the Logitech stuff has been end of life for some time. I've read reviews that the Comtrend units don't get along well with other brands of powerline adapters on the same circuit, so be cautioned that starting down this path may force you to upgrade multiple adapters to get all of your cameras working. If you reach that point, you would be better off starting to migrate to a current POE switch/IP camera platform. I completely understand the allure of the Alert systems and the ease of the plug and play, and the investment made if you purchased when this system was in its prime.

I think it's a username/password issue because I bought a new (used) Alert camera on eBay and am able to get it working just fine in BI using admin/admin. Thanks for the help! And, I'll be back with more questions. :)

As previously stated, do a factory reset on that cam.

IIRC there is a little pinhole you stick a paper clip in for 30 seconds or so.

Anyone feel like a challenge? I'm unable to get my Logitech cameras to work in BI. Too many settings, have no idea where to begin after selecting the camera from the dropdown. Do I need to plug in IP addresses or ...?

Lost, thanks.
I have 2 Logitech Alert cameras connected POE working with BI since April 2013. They configured with Find/Inspect... just fine. Both cameras stopped working with BI after a BI software update in early March 2019. Both cameras are still working just fine with Logitech Alert Commander and third party apps on desktop and iOs.

I can sort of get them working in BI but they're VERY unreliable. Interesting that it might have been a software update that did it. Thanks for chiming in.

I am running laest BI version 4.8.6.3 and my Logitech Alert works flawlessly, so not a BI issue.

I do need to sell it and put a better cam up!

Would you mind sending me a screenshot of the camera configuration page? Thanks.
