How to show smart event markers in playback for Hikvision?

I've got a 7608 I-series on the latest firmware and five 2355's on the latest firmware, all set to record continuously. I use line crossing and intrusion detection, not motion detection. On the NVR monitor in playback, any smart events show up as red lines in the blue playback line across the bottom. However, in the web interface, I cannot get those same markers to show up no matter what I do. I'm using I.E. with the latest web components version.

I have the "rules" box checked in the config tab, and I know how to tick the line crossing or intrusion box in the lower left hand corner once the playback video is running. Any other ideas on something I've missed on how to get these events to show up in the web view?

It just doesn't work for smart events, no supplemental markers in the web GUI when recording continuously.
Works OK for motion events.

I was hoping you would chime in - thank you.

I'm guessing some kind of high hurdle to make this happen, because it's way too important for Hik to leave it out. Hopefully with a future firmware upgrade, right?
