Just wrapped up installing my new Dahua POE setup consisting of two 5mp mini dome cams (N51BL22), a 4k mini dome cam (N84CL52) and an N52B2P NVR. Had to pull my Cat5e to from camera locations to the basement where the NVR would be located, added the wall mount and cleaned up related items... First time in a while that the covers were on the network and security boxes...

I found it interesting the Dahua NVR did not have any mounting options for a wall mount, I ended up drilling four holes around the hdd's (circled in photo).

I still need to run a fiber optic line (DVI Fiber Modems TX/RX) from NVR and USB over Cat5e to our second-floor master bedroom for NVR viewing and control. Also planning to run four additional Cat5e up in the attic for any future needs.

Still learning the motion detecting, tagging, alerts and all the good stuff, lots of tweaking ahead. Much better than the Smonet 1080p bullet cam system I had installed, powered cameras with wifi signal, to put it mildly, they are garbage.

Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Is there a way you could install a tripwire alarm that plays a recorded message "Please look up at the camera" for each location?

Being new to Dahua IP cams I am not sure exactly, the 4k cam has audio in/audio out, but I believe that is for connecting an external speaker/mic (maybe someone who knows can chime in, as the documents that come with the cams is bare min info it seems).

I know from an NVR standpoint that an audio trigger can be setup, I have been reading up and browsing mics just not sure yet, likely the HAP200 will be next on my list.

Not as good as I hoped, but still tweaking and trying to figure out the best options. Tonight I will turn off all exterior lights and see what the images look like, that might do the trick.

I’m going to add a fourth camera up front on the opposite side of the garage, looking for recommendations on the best night vision. Suggestions welcome.

Most here will advise that for best night vision, you go with the 2MP Dahua Starlights and/or HiK Darkfighter's.

Hey my first post. Congrats on your setup. I too have been installing a few cameras at work and will soon be adding 3-4 cameras at home. Do you mind posting here on picture at predetermined check points evaluating picture quality ? For example maybe after a year or 2 to see how the dome cameras are holding up. I’ve read numerous places here at IPCT that it is not recommended to use dome cameras for outside and also the higher the resolution the worst the picture is at night. I guess if you have good lighting at night then you wouldn't need the infamous dahua 2mp starlight camera. You could also try buying a camera from a vendor named Andy and he has an amazon store and do side-by-side comparisons. Anyways nice job you did.

FYI, Cams are mounted too high for meaningful face ID's. The one on the patio, point it down some, you don't need to see the ceiling and the IR is bouncing back from that rafter and hurting the cams exposure.
Still shots are easy to make look good, movement in the video is what is important and much harder to accomplish after dark.

I would agree with @looney2ns about the driveway cam, It's way to high to get what you need. Bring it down to 8ft or so. Also, think about putting your nvr and internet equipment on a battery back up, even if it's a small one.
