Hi,

I bought BI from IPcamtalk & have been using it for a few weeks. Today I have a customers new I5 8400 PC with 8gb of ram (I have a I7 4790 16 gb ram) with Windows 10.

I deactivated the BI software on my I7, exported the config, then on the I5/8gb I installed the software, installed the config, then activated the software. The I5 CPU ran at about 80% (my I7 runs closer to 45%).

Then I deactivated the I5, did a reset on the machine (as it wasnt for me).

Then on my I7 I went to activate and the software says it has been activated to many times and buy another license.

I sent an email out to support but wanted to see if this is a common issue or something I did wrong?

To confirm I only have BI running on the I7 (now in demo mode).

Thanks,
Rich

Support will reset it for you.

However, you cannot use a license key on more than 1 machine, ever. So please don't do that again.

You can easily transfer licenses to other machines. Deactivate the license in the about tab first.

ThankYou Mike And Fenderman. Good to know that I can use my license when I buy the new rig.
Also, after deactivating your license, it might be a good idea to completely uninstall BI too. I know it gives a popup when you uninstall Blue Iris asking if you want to deregister any serial numbers used on that machine. It might be redundant and just there in case you forgot to deregister it inside BI but it cant hurt.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I just upgraded my server to 2016 (no hardware change) and now blue Iris says mine has been activated to many times. I've sent an email to support two days ago, but haven't heard back yet. I have extended support.

They will reply to you, just give them some time. They get inundated with support emails on a daily basis.

For future reference, you should "Deactivate" your Blue Iris before you use the same key on another machine.
