I'm having a significant issue with all 3 of my new Reolink cameras. The cameras are:

ReoLink RLC-410WS - Firmware 708_16011903 - Hardware Ver IPC_3816M
ReoLink RCL-420 - Firmware 708_16012800 - Hardware Ver IPC_3816M
ReoLink RCL-420 - Firmware 708_16012800 - Hardware Ver IPC_3816M

Here are examples of the smearing I'm seeing that is causing BI to trigger alerts/recordings.

BI and Reolink 01.pngBI and Reolink 02.pngBI and Reolink 03.png

This is a brand new install of BI on a brand new PC (replaced it yesterday) but I was getting this same issue on my previous BI machine as well.

I have 5 other IP cameras (4 D-Link, 1 Cisco) and none of them do this with BI.

Any ideas what's going wrong? Do I need to return all 3 of these cameras?

This is a known issue with reolink and BI..there are a few threads discussing this...dont know if it was fully resolved. The problem is that the reolink does not have an independent i frame adjustment.

I'm running the latest build as of yesterday (4.3.something). I'd log in to double check but it looks like BI has crashed (again) on that machine. :mad-new:

I dropped the resolution down to 1080p last night and I have not seen any artifacts so far ... hoping for the best (but kinda bummed that I can't use the full resolution I paid for with these cameras. :()

Ive been having the same issues with these cameras as well. Reo-link has been helpful but the problem is still there. It greatly appears to be related to the fact that you cant change the iframe count. Even putting the resolution down to 1080P and the encoding at "baseline" and the FPS to 12 it still have artifacts and issues of the camera disconnecting very frequently. Additionally when the camera is working and it is triggered to record..the recording lags and shows a lot of ghosting to the point of making it unwatchable.

So does the reolink use a fixed iframe interval? if so, it should work to set the FPS to match the iframe interval exactly,
but if the camera adjusts the iframe interval with the frame rate, then you're SOL, unless/until Ken (developer) can fix it in BI...

Im not exactly sure but it seems to be a BI issue honestly. The cameras work find in their reolink software and they also work perfectly in Sighthound software that i was testing. I plan to contact Ken and ask for some help. He has been very responsive in the past.

did you try using the Q-cam selection the camera pulldown as i suggested earlier?
it could be that whatever Ken fixed for that cam just needs to be applied to these copycat reolinks...

in which case, he's already fixed it. :)

I'm getting this problem in 2019 with the newest Reolink cameras still. Both of them. I don't know what to do.

This is a known issue with reolink as they don't allow iframe interval adjustments. Why people still buy from this lying spamming company is beyond me. Anyone who buys them at this point deserves suffering the consequences.

True. I’ve read the threads now. Funny thing is it was working before, but I switched servers and now won’t work. Just wondering about some mitigating settings to get rid of stuff like dropouts, image tearing, and delayed video suddenly catching up and skipping 10 seconds of footage.

I bought one of their bullet cameras over a year ago to try it out and had all sorts of issues with the camera losing connectivity all the time. I asked them if there was a firmware upgrade and they asked me why I would need one. Right then I knew they were full of BS... and so is the camera. Never did send it back for a refund... I should have but realized it would cost me time that I didn't want to spend.
