Ah, ok. I wasn't sure exactly what you wanted. I presumed (never assume! ;) ) that you wanted to keep your normal alerts going for that camera sans alert sounds, while still having an alert sound for a specific area. That's why I suggested cloning. :)
That is smart and a better idea actually :) If you clone camera doesn't it take up streaming power to stream another video? As you clearly see I don't know how it works. Well for UI3 even if I move to profile 3 that has the audio alert for sound but profile 2 has no sound but more masked off area wouldn't UI3 still show all alert clips for profile 2 in the alerts tab even though it isn't selected?

I have one cloned and it shows 0.00kB/s for the bitrate. You don't need to record the cloned cam because it'll already be recording in your prime cam's view.

Are you able to set this in BI and then it transfers to UI3?
Event-triggered sound effects configured in BI do not transfer to UI3. UI3's event-triggered sound system is relatively simple and cannot be restricted to certain cameras or certain motion zones. It will simply play your assigned sound whenever the metadata in the H.264 video stream says there was motion or a camera trigger. More advanced configuration of event-triggered sounds is a possibility for the future, but it would take considerable development effort and is not a priority for me.

Only one problem, I cannot find an "Export as AVI" setting in UI3. Of course I could have missed it, but if there isn't one in UI3, is there one in BI5 that would determine the download format while using UI3?
It is in the context menu when you right click on a clip or alert. If using a touchscreen, you must press and hold. If using an Apple touchscreen, you are simply unable to open context menus.

THANK YOU bp2008! I had no idea that I could download a clip from the clip list and context menu. I thought I had to play the clip in the playback area, then click the download icon at the right side of the playback controls. The context menu with the AVI option makes this much faster and easier!

Thanks. So for example I have 3 different motion detection settings on BI with sound so it won't carry to UI3? How do I get sound just when someone is picked up on the door bell through UI3? I think I am confused as I am not as advanced with terminology "metadata in the H.264 video stream says there was motion or a camera trigger" - that would be fine for 1 camera I need motion detection on.

Sounds will play when motion is detected in a visible camera, or when a visible camera is triggered. If you only want event-triggered sounds for one camera in UI3 then you must only view that one camera in UI3.

Thanks. I was afraid of this. I needed ability to view all cameras when needed but only alert sound on 1 camera at door. The other will create too many alert sounds. Thanks for taking time to explain this further.

I must have done something stupid or missed a setting in going to BI v5. The resolution of text overlay in UI3 is now terrible and all pixelated (attached image #1, top). It was fine in BI 4 but in BI5 it looks better (but not great) in JPEG HD; all streaming options make it look terrible. I tried on different browsers, different computers with different video cards, etc. No difference. Resolution is fine (excellent actually) in the BI console (attached image #2, bottom) and in the android app, UI3 just seems to be bad. Not sure what I've screwed up. Anyone else seeing this, or have suggestions? Or maybe this is supposed to be like this?

It isn't only your text overlays which are low res, that whole image is low res. Is it only the group stream which is low-resolution like that? If so then you should be able to fix it by increasing the group frame size here:

Yes, it is only the group stream that has the low resolution. Once you open a particular camera, the resolution excellent. I used your frame size suggestion, and it is MUCH better. I thought I had tried every option...but the configure group option had eluded me. What determines the value that are found in the frame size pull-down?

I believe the ones in the pulldown are hard-coded. You are better off typing your own and tweaking to get a suitable camera layout with a minimum of wasted black space.

BP, Wonderful software. I appreciate your taking the time to develop this product. Is there any way to select all of the "Alerts" in one key combo? Like, Cntrl + A ?
BI has that feature, and I use it everyday, but I haven't found this feature in UI3. I know you and Shift click to select all of the ones on screen, and that's what I've been doing to delete clips that I have reviewed. Thank You Sir!

New ui3 user here, very stoked with how well it works on my iPhone and our newer Samsung smart tv.

We have a slightly older one as well, 6300 series Samsung circa 2015, that is having trouble keeping up. Only jpeg options for quality settings and it struggles to get 1fps with 13 cameras. Network is wired gigabit and seems on point for all other devices, server status also stays green. Should this be expected out of a tv like this? Is there a settings workaround to help it out?? If not, what is the best option for a hardware add on; Raspberry Pi???

Pi works fairly well:
Using Raspberry Pi B+ / Raspbian to view Blue Iris UI3!

I'm having a problem with UI3. I reported it first on the "official" BI Forum but that's a screwed-up forum at this time. It hasn't worked properly for me since I joined it a couple of weeks ago, and now it is completely inaccessible -- I'm getting errors like "[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/phpbb/pagination.php on line 144: Division by zero" and "You do not have permission to view this directory or page" and "Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist. Error 404." Someone might fix these problems some day, but until then this ipcamtalk.com forum seems to be much more reliable ...

:)

My UI3 problem is this:

The "Disk" value at the bottom left of UI3 shows 92% but my hard drive has tons of empty space on the C: partition, so it looks like BI5 (or UI3) is not seeing, and therefore not reporting, the actual free space on my C: partition Instead it only recognizes a very small portion of that space as "free", and it thinks the rest of the space on my C: partition is "unallocated". I think you can see this issue from the attached images.

So why does UI3 report my Disk value at 92% when in reality it is 13%?
