This past few weeks a clients Hik NVR has started to lose connection it appears to Hik-Connect and the NVR has to be rebooted for it to go again. It has disconnected several times this week.

The NVR is connected to a 4G router as it is at a remote site with no cable connection so because it’s using 4G, Hik-Connect is the only way to connect remotely.

Just wondering if anyone else suffered issues like this?

Things to try (which model is it?):
  • NVR on the latest firmware
  • UPnP off?
  • Try a different server

NVR is DS-7608NI-K2/8P
UPnP is On.
Firmware hasn’t been updated yet to the new release in April.

I will try a different server. I must check a few other installs to see what server they are on as I haven’t heard of any complaints yet.

Not sure why it worked great for months since the install and now it’s being temperamental.

Long shot, if you don't come right with the above suggestions try lowering the MTU to 1428.

Just an update.

I updated firmware last night. Logged in last night and this morning twice and it was working. An hour later I checked again and Hik-Connect is now showing the NVR is offline.

It seems that once you log in a few times, it goes Offline. I changed the server address and made no difference.
