FYI - posted this as a reply in another thread. Thought others maybe interested.

I’m looking for something relatively inexpensive to put inside my attached 2 car garage. It’s approx 22’ x 22’. I’ll probably mount the camera on the ceiling in a corner. I would prefer to go a little cheap on this camera, and save my money for more expensive exterior cameras. It needs to be onvif and Poe. Any suggestions? Thx
Hi @99ls1tj

I noticed the following deal on another forum

LaView Saturn Series 5MP mini Bullet Ourdoor PoE IP Camera,3.6mm, h.265+, True 120dB WDR, IP67, IVS, 2-pack
SKU LVS-DHPB8652W-36-2P
Availability: In stock
"typically" $249.00
now $146.00

15% Off Site Wide Code: SAVE15 -> $124.1 ( or $62.xx each camera )
LaView Saturn 5MP PoE IP Bullet Cameras

Note: These appear to be Dahua OEM due to the mention of "IVS" and compatibility with Dahua OEM software ( iDMSS Lite or gDMSS Lite ) a..
spec sheet: https://www.laviewsecurity.com/files/datasheet/LV-DHPB8652W-36.pdf

appears close to the Dahua OEM international model IPC-HFW1531S
5MP WDR IR Mini-Bullet Camera

Looks like a good option for affordability and Dahua OEM from a US vendor.
( note, the LaView sales sometimes only last a couple of days, so today maybe the last day on this one .. )

What should I be looking at for minimum specs for low light? Benchmark? Which dahua camera do you think they are?

Thanks for sharing.

I am just going to need @fendermaninput here. I rushed to buy the La View Doorbell when on sale without much thought and it wasn't the 'best' decision.

Hi @TL1096r

That Hikvision OEM video doorbell camera issues was a result of Hikvision majorly dropping the ball on that.

Big part of that was
1) WiFi - always a potential issue
2) doorbell wiring for power - also another potential issue with transformers, other products installed on the line
3) cloud service ( hey OEM, yes you need to staff for this and constantly work to keep it functional )
4) VOIP - voice over IP ...

So you can see that with that WiFi video doorbell there is a lot more going on that the OEM needs to really account for and invest resources to keeping it going.

That noted, the camera mentioned here is a Dahua OEM product - not a Hikvision. Also it is not a cloud product, nor a WiFi product, .. so I honestly doubt you'll have a similar experience with the issues associated with the Hikvision OEM video doorbell ( which turned out to be a real let down for all the vendors who rebranded it, and all the customers expecting better results )
