I tried setting up some IVS rules and it seems to make the camera freeze/lag up. I disabled the rules and rebooted the camera and all seems well now. I use this camera with Blue Iris as well has anyone else had this issue? It's probably not a big issue if I don't use auto tracking but it would be nice to be able to track the wildlife.

I would set the cam back to factory defaults, and then set the cam back up from scratch.
What firmware are you on?

So download dh_sd-eos_multilang_pn_stream3_v2-623-0000000-17-r-190119-bin.41275 Does that include the PTZ firmware or is that just the main firmware?

I've been having trouble with this for some time
I have a SD59225HNI and I updated the firmware to get the the updated quicker focus option.

Ever since I updated I've been battling with similar issues to this.

Basically the camera does like yours but also freezes on PTZ sometimes or zooming.

I've sort of gave up and ended up just using it as a static camera.

Tried everything even 're run new cabling,

I just come to the conclusion the firmware is screwed.

Same here, I will wait till they get it fixed. Not sure if the issue is the main FW or the ptz FW..

Couldn't be sure but it's been doing my nut in!

I think I would have rather had the slower focus than this because it really does make the ptz unusable as a ptz

I haven't really had any major issues with the PTZ but the second I try to do automated tracking it really causes issues.

Oh yes auto tracking with the newer firmware you've got no chance. It just is purely broken in the firmware.

I was a bit peeved at that because I had s nice little setup to track in a certain area and that's now useless.

I'm kind of frustrated because it seems the updates for these ptz seems to be rather slower than the newer cams (which you can expect to a certain degree) but at the same time I would have thought they would have updated the firmware so you dont need to run the plugins like the new models

Not having to run the plug-in would be nice. I do notice the latest firmware for my camera has made it so I don't need to set my 4K monitor resolution down to 1920x1080 to get it to look correct. I guess that's a little bit of progress. Hopefully they fix the auto tracking glitch otherwise I could've gotten the cheaper model that doesn't have auto tracking and save over $100 at least.

I've not seen freezes like that on my 59225 with IVS tracking rules - what config are you using?

I have one intrusion rule with Entry and Exit and one tripwire with A<->B configured and haven't seen those freezes in the video.

How is your camera powered and are you using microSD or sending video to an NFS share or FTP etc?

Well it is possible I'm not setting it up correctly as I am quite new to IVS. I use a 30W POE injector. No I do not use a microSD card but I am using Blue Iris.

Which injector exactly is it you're using and what switch? Has the cable been tested with a cable tester?

It might be worth adding the on screen clock - that way if it continues running while the video is paused it's something in the camera going haywire - if the clock stops with the video there's a chance it's a cable issue.

If you turn off IVS and move the camera around does that all make it over to BI ok?

Mine went haywire for a while and it was the connections needed remaking and touch wood it's been fine since.

I have no experience with any of the above - maybe someone else can comment on those. The old firmwares used to give info on low power events but that is gone now in recent firmwares.

I specced Cat6 for our new build but when we moved in they had used 5e and it's been fine for my purposes.

Is the light on the switch end yellow or green (just thinking is it maybe flipping between 10/100?)

Also what are you running BI on - have you looked at that to see if there if disk busy time etc is high when writing video?

There's lots of troubleshooting to do - maybe start with enabling that OSD clock on the camera and then you can see if that's ticking when the video pauses.

I have enabled OSD clock now so we shall see. I'm thinking the switch should be fine as I have a 4K garage camera and a backyard camera attached to it as well as the PTZ camera. Here is my Blue Iris PC specs

I'm using a power brick so not connected to poe
I've changed power supply as well just to eliminate power as a cause.

Solid copper cat5e run to switch from camera also.

I'm basically running default settings as I did a factory reset.

I'm running the latest firmware on mine for both ptz and software.

It only got introduced after the firmware upgrade as well.
