by Push notifications i mean event alerts on mobile (emails are too slow for me and the event is gone by the time they are received - i like to know when someone has entered my property at that moment). gDmss is going through a server in China first isn't it? BI is going from computer to you on network so it should be quicker. I wonder if there is any lag time between alerts. I don't know from experience with both but thought I throw the question out there.

The hardest part sometimes is just getting it all together. Once I had my computer, POE switch and learned how to setup dual NIC I was up and running in a day. Look how to optimize BI:

The push notifications work great and are much more custom than the dahua nvr, they can easily be turned off by schedule or manually. The app is excellent, the fools who bitch about it dont know what they are doing and instead of coming to a forum to learn what they are doing wrong, they complain in the reviews as if the purchase of a 10 dollar app provides them with free networking support for life. Both the dahua and BI app have the same rating in the app store, 4.1.
You can squeeze those drives into the dell sff, there are a bunch of threads on this. or look at an hp prodesk/elitedesk

And not because of your strawman argument about networking - it's true that it provides no help for the networking challenges which is already unforgivable. (It requires either a VPN tunnel, or installing STunnel on the server, or opening/forwarding multiple ports. But with years of networking experience and/or hours of handholding they can all be resolved.)

No, it is complete garbage because IT FAILS AS AN APP. In every way, it is worse than using UI3. Of course you shouldn't use UI3 on mobile because it's...not meant for mobile and provides a horrible user experience. Well, the app is even worse.

The app is great you just don't know what the hell you're doing... I run over 20 blue Iris systems with at least 50 users with the mobile app...
You don't even explain the problems you're having... Instead of trashing the app you should tell us the problem so we can help you because you're obviously incompetent....
There are no networking issues with the app and the developer is not responsible for securing your network or providing you with a server to transmit your video. You're just ignorant.
perhaps you need to use a different VMS tell us how great it is and how great the mobile app is. Put your money where your big mouth is.
