Question: How do you invert Dahua PTZ image?
Just bought a PTZ1A225U-IRA-N (from Andy as advised on this forum)
What a great guy, very helpful and really fast shipping, thanks for the advice.

I have it installed inverted / Ceiling mount, but just can't figure out how to invert the image (it's upside down).

Setup:
NVR - Dahau NVR5216-16P-4KS2E
Web Version:V3.2.3.109074
Onvif Version: V2.4.1
Security Baseline Version: V1.4
System Version:V3.216.0000005.0, Build Date: 2019-01-25

Various documentation states things like.......
1. High speed positioning system - Install manual - ver 1.0.2
"set installation mode as Inverted installation in the path of 'Setup > System > Local' after camera installation is completed".

2. Da
hua Network Speed Dome & PTZ Camera Web3.0 Operation Manual
Select “Setup > System > General”, the system will display the interface of “General”
Should be an "Install mode" option which you can select upright or inverted

Also looked through various manuals at Dahua Wiki
(Hoped to find an updated manual for Ver 3.2 of Web operation manual as it seem as if the GUI has been updated/changed since V3.0)

I have tried direcly through...
A. NVR
B. IE Web browser
C. iDMSS iphone app

Looked through the various menus / tabs etc. but can't seem to find anywhere to set the "Install mode" to inverted.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Not the same camera, but it should be basically in the same spot.
You are looking for "Flip"

Thanks looney2ns,

I have similar options 'Normal or 180' (under Setup > Image)
And (under Preview > PTZ Setup -pull down menu) there is a Flip option

Neither seem to do anything??

Hey weigle2,
Thanks for screen shot, my screen layout seems different, what version are you running?
Dahua NVR 5216 showing Web Version:V3.2.3.109074 and that option does not seem to be there??
Using IE browser ver 11
Also, I see your Device Name is the PTZ, where mine is showing NVR.

Hey Weigle2, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
I needed to log into the camera, not the NVR

From the 'Setup >Image > Registration' tab, I clicked on the WEB Browse (Blue Internet Explorer Icon, in this case)
Logged in to the PTZ camera. the layout and the options were like your Screen Shot.

Thanks!

Hey Ed,
I have the basic setup up and running. I am only a beginner at this stuff but I'd be happy to help if I can.
Let me know if there is something specific you'd like to know about the setup.
The hardest part has been getting to know what options are available (take time to read here and watch youtube videos), learn about which topology (NVR, PC w/software), learning pros & cons of the cameras (Highest Resolutions & Night capability). And what are my real requirements.

This setup has been mostly Plug & Play. And between this forum and the likes of youtube videos, it's not too bad to ge up and running.
I setup NVR (followed step by step instructions, plugged in the cameras (all on the bench first), All worked.
Figured out Internet Explorer seemed like the simplest brower to start with and then installed the iDMSS app on the iphone. All seems to work.
The mistake I made was I did not realize that I needed to log into the camera to set it up, not just the NVR. Seems obvious now!
Anyway, let me know if I can help.

Thanks, I think I'm going to make this purchase. I only want this camera and the NVR for now. I have a large garage in my back yard that I want to mount the camera on. If I need your help I'll contact you. Thanks

The PTZ I bought from Andy is the OEM (no logo version). Tried using Andy because of this site. Glad I did.
The rest of the gear I have is Dahua with Logo, bought it elsewhere.

Whenever you have time could you answer a few questions about your install if you would. I don't think by you NVR model # you are using a POE switch but if you are what kind is it. How are you powering the PTZ? Is the PTZ grounded in any way? How many cables did you pull to the PTZ, and are you using any of the alarms on the camera
And lastly how did the transaction with Andy go, I have e-mailed him several times and he ask for a PayPal ID, could that be a security issue. Thanks so much for your time.

I bought two of these cameras from and they are hooked up to a Hikvision NVR. I cannot remember if I used a power injector with these. Anyways no problems with them.

NVR is POE - model Dahau NVR5216-16P-4KS2E
I think the numbers stand for the following
5 - series
2 - HDD slots
16 - Ports
16P - POE (16 ports, 8 are powered)
2. How are you powering the PTZ?
Powering PTZ via NVR with single Cat6 cable
3. Is the PTZ grounded in any way?
No additional grounding (ceiling mount, covered under roof soffit)
4. How many cables did you pull to the PTZ
I only ran one, in hindsight I should have ran more
5. Are you using any of the alarms on the camera
No, again in hindsight, I should have ran more wire (Audio, alarm, redundency)

As to Andy, I only know him from what I have read on the site. (I am also brand new to the forum) so,
I emailed him and asked about a few different cameras and their mounting options.
Taking into account the time zone difference, he got back to me quickly ( 12-18hours)
He answered my questions, seemed very fair, price and shipping info.
Decided to try the PTZ (live near the ocean and night capability is important to me)
I gave him my PayPal email address via email
He sent the invoice/request for payment to my Paypal account
I ok'd the payment from within Paypal account (seemed pretty secure to me)
He emailed me right back to confirm, payment, double check address etc.
And shipped it the same day! (this all happend late, EST Florida)
I need a few more cameras and from my experience so far, I'll will buy from him again.

Hope this helps
