Hi Guys I have been using 4 cameras for the past year or so without issues, until recently I cannot get the email to work on 2 of the 4 cameras. I have 2 of the: DahuaStarlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)
and 2 of the: Mini IR Wedge w/SD, Audio (2.8mm, 3.6mm, 6mm): IPC-HDBW4231F-AS.

Strange part is one of each sends out email and the other 2 wont? I am not sure what else to look for I have checked all of the settings with other post.
I have even tried using different email accounts.

I also cannot get the NVR NVR5XXX-4ks2 to send out emails all test say Failed see pic.

Could it be that the cameras IP address has something to do with this?
all are 192.168.1.107,.110,.111 and .113
NVR is .109
.109, 110, and 111 will not pass test when I click test email but 107 and 113
will pass test
:idk:
Thanks,
Drew

Check all of your settings and compare. Do you have same firmware on the similar devices?

Ensure devices have default gateway, DNS, SMTP server&port, username and passwords set correctly.

What is the error if any?

Hi Valiant thanks for the reply, default gateway is set 192.168.1.1, SMTP server is gmail with SSL 465, definitely set username and password correctly as they work for the 2 other cameras.
Does not show any error (Email Test Connection Failed). All I see under log is Login and Event Begin and Event End files. No useful information

Here is a thought the IP address it is using is http://192.168.1.111, but I just noticed under log the event for saving the email configuration is listed as my PC I am working from 192.168.1.226.
Is that correct? see pic.

I tried and changed it to TLS as well as SSL, still same message "Email Test Connection Failed"
TLS / Port 587 / allow unsecure devices is certainly a working combination, given proper support in the firmware.

A key requirement also is that internet name resolution works OK, and of course that internet access is available.
Suggestion of a couple of things to try as an experiment:

If there is a Test button at the DST configuration - see if time.windows.com tests out OK.
Change the DNS setting to 8.8.8.8 and re-test.
Do an nslookup for smtp.gmail.com and use one of the IP addresses to replace the smtp.gmail.com value and re-test.

As is often the case, there's already another thread on this exact topic: email notify

Many cameras and other devices (e.g. Synology NAS devices) can no longer send through gmail without an update, due to gmail getting more strict about things. We need to wait for a firmware update to use gmail. In the mean time, you need to find another smtp provider (such as that likely provided by your ISP). Read the other thread and thank those who did the work to find the specific problem. You'll also see in the latest message that Andy will post firmware updates when they are available.
