Hmmm. So do I go 4mp bullet varifocals, or the fixed lens or tried And true 5231??

Yikes. I need about 10 for new house ....
The 2231 are good fill-ins too.

If I were you, I'd get one of the 4mp bullet varifocals and one of the 5231s and try them both in the various areas you need other cameras. Remember to compare *video*, not still images.

Based on those results, then I'd finish buying the remainder of the cameras.

Requires some legwork, but takes the guesswork out of it. :)

Any 4K 8mp turrets??
Just the old 5831s, but that 1/2.5” sensor isn’t good at night (IMO). The new 4K 8MP series (1831/2831) is better at night (not Starlight good, but better than the 5831s) but they don’t have any turret models.

If you haven’t seen it, there’s a brand new 5442 series that has 4MP models (inc turrets) that are close to the 5231s in low-light.

This will certainly help dummies like me that have no idea of naming scheme. Wish they kept it simple.
