what are you doesnt understood?
Nothing is misunderstood, I was looking for clarification. You said “that firmware is closed.” I thought you might have been talking about another build.

I am having problems with this new firmware for NVR5432-4KS2. I have previously upgraded a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E with no problem.

However, when upgrading the NVR5432-4KS2 to this version 4.0, I get a constant clicking noise coming out of the motherboard. It sounds like a relay. I have tried and turned off every alarm output possible thinking it is some kind of warning or trigger. Nothing seems to work for me. I then reflashed back to the original factory V3.216.0000006.0.R.2019 firmware, and that is working fine. No clicking noise.

Anyone have this problem?

I also have an 5216 which doesn't have an issue, but here my thoughts:
- are you sure it ain't the hard drives clicking (unplug them in shutdown mode)?
- are you sure the firmware upgrade went 100% correct? I remember @EMPIRETECANDY stating once that downgrade was not possible!
I powered it up brand new. There is no hard drive attached. I attached and detached a hard drive. Made no difference. Downgrading the firmware makes the problem go away.

Yes, pretty sure the firmware update went fine. I already upgraded and downgraded 3 times. Same problem. Going back to v3.216 always have no problem. The NVR works fine. All the menus and options works fine. I even loaded up 6 cameras automatically detected by IP scan.

Here's the clicking sound.

Did you make a factory default after flashing and reboot?
Can you try to hear, where is sound: mainboard or power supply?

Originally, I thought it was the PSU fan. But it's not. It's definitely coming from the motherboard (green relay switch areas). My guess is, something is triggering the relay. The clicking is very consistent and as long as the NVR is fully booted up, then it will click. When you reboot the NVR, the clicking does go away until 20 seconds later, when the NVR boots up the OS, then the clicking comes back.

Yeah, I tried factory default. It didn't work.

The only way now is to stick with version 3.216. No issues there.

Real bummer. The NVR is manufactured June 2019, so it is very new and recent. My guess is that there aren't a lot of buyers for the 54xx series NVR so maybe there was a bug not tested... I have two of the 5216-16P that I installed for my families and upgraded those. They don't have this clicking problem.

I've spoken to Andy about this and hopefully, he'll be able to get Dahua to find some kind of firmware resolution for the next build. I was really hoping to use the new v4.0.

I thought you cannot downgrade 4.0? Can I downgrade to previous version as I too am having issues with the 4.0.

Using IE, Chrome or Firefox when accessing Management - Camera- Encode - Please Wait=message appears and never goes away and hangs the browser. Cannot get past this point using Web Browsers.

Of course you can downgrade! I just did it 3 times last night. No issues. Downgrade to the same firmware that you had before. I had to downgrade and upgrade 3 times to make sure that it was indeed the new firmware that was the problem.

Now I am back to v3.216 old firmware from February.

The 54xx motherboard is probably very different than the 52xx series that many of you have. It has 16-ch alarm input and 6 channel relay output. Compared to the 52xx motherboard, which only has 4 channel alarm output and 2 channel relay output. The 54xx (non-poe) consumes 16.7watts and the 52xx series (non-poe) consumes 9.5watts. The poe version 52xx series consumes 15.2w.

Now that I think about it, I believe the clicking is coming from the relay.

According to Dahua's wiki, they have relay module that also "clicks" when activated:

I can confirm on the NVR5432-4KS2, that when I try both:
General_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.000.0000000.0.R.20190713.bin
and
DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.000.0000000.0.R.20190713.bin

I can downgrade back to version v3.216 without problem. However, both firmware files are not solving my clicking issue, even with factory default and regular default.

I also found out that in order to use my HDW5241H AI Cam with 2-way talk through the NVR, the microphone only works if I upgrade the NVR to version 4.0. If I use version 3.216 of the NVR firmware, then the 2-way talk microphone on the 5241 camera does not work thru iDMSS Plus. Real sad at this point. That means the problem is not with the iDMSS Plus App, but rather the NVR firmware.

Quick question, in the older firmware, under system>Display, there used to be an option to display the IVS Rule. I don't see that in 4.0. Have the moved it somewhere or is that missing?

Never mind, I found it. I really need to wear my glasses. Turns out there is a second page to the Main Menu.

I see they relocated the IVS events log from the general log to an "alarm" log? Previously I used to be able to view and playback IVS events directly from the log with the play button next to the event. The new interface has the play button but its greyed out next to the IVS events.

Any Ideas?

Any additional confirmation this really was pulled? Any idea on a new release/version?
