After a couple of months spent focusing solely on bug fixes and minor usability
enhancements, we have reached a point of stability that now allows us to continue with
more significant development.

The console now recognizes when the service has crashed and has been restarted. An
automatic reconnection is attempted for seamless use of the console window.

The latest version of the Intel MFX library (2019R1) is now being used. This update was
made in an attempt to bring stability to systems experiencing memory leaks with some
versions of the Intel drivers, and to possibly offer H.265 decoding and (eventually) hardware
encoding using Intel QuickSync.

Maybe I should finally make the jump to V5!
I've just gotten around to finally doing mine with this version and it seems to have worked fine.

I went through the upgrade guide on here:
Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

I run as a service so just had to ensure it was disabled before the upgrade and then re-enabled afterwards.

The only thing I'd say is that when I uninstalled v4 it still seemed to rip out some settings (a lot of registry keys were still there though in HKLM and HKCU) so I had to re-enter the key at the next launch of v5 and then as per the readme imported the settings from backup_upgrade_50.reg.

I'm not sure whether you can launch in demo mode that first time and then import but after getting in and importing all seems to be working fine.

A smooth upgrade from here :headbang:

Has anyone tried H.265 Intel decode since this update? I'll try tonight when I'm home.

H.265 Intel decode still doesn't work, at least on my i5-6600 with an old driver from 2016. Newer drivers cause major ghosting on my system. If I update to a new driver it's hard to roll back, sometimes I have to do a system restore and it doesn't remember all settings. But maybe a combo of a newer driver and this latest BI update will work.

Can someone with a newer CPU/GPU try?

Intel 655 (i5-8259U) with newest 26.20.100.7000 driver doesn't work.
