Hello There!

I just ordered a RCA HSDB2A and I'm waiting for it to arrive.

I don't have an existing traditional door bell. I'm currently using a push button connected to a Z-wave device. That works great but my new Doorbell Camera will have only 2 connections that by "some magic" is used both for power supply and can work as a push button for an ancient/traditional doorbell system.

I'm aware that I'll be able to receive notifications when someone rings my door bell to my cell phone but I'm sure there will be a delay, especially if my phone is trying to save power.

What I'd like is to have an instant way to notify my home automation system (using Z-Wave or a 433 MHz device like ACDB-7000)

I wonder what the magical "Power Kit" that comes with RCA HSDB2A actually is...

I need to buy a transformer. Tried to have a look at the Quick Start Guide. I wonder if it's been written by aliens...
RESISTOR INSTRUCTIONS (IF YOU DON’T HAVE A CHIME BOX)
Why would I like to install a resistor in series with the 16-24VAC power supply? Or are they really suggesting that I connect the doorbell directly to the grid!!! They do actually write
Connect the video doorbell to home power
Scary... or do they have 24VAC in the grid in China?

Maybe things get more clear when I receive the doorbell device.

How have you guys, owner of a RCA HSDB2A, EZVIZ DB1 or a Laview One Halo solved notification to Home Automation System?

Cheers!

I have detailed adding a Z wave (or any sensor with a switch input) sensor to the HSDB2A here:

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

FYI doorbell button press notification delay in the app is so minor it is a non-issue.
