Hi Everyone, I have moved over from Agent/Ispy as I didn't like the direction the software is heading. I am currently running the evaluation version of BI to check it out but I have a few questions from the user side of things

1) I have 9x 1920x1080 /25fps cameras and cpu load is around 60-80% - its an older 8 core AMD cpu so I cant use any of the intel options, it is however an 8 core @ 4.7ghz but the software is only using 1 Core - does running as a service lower cpu usage much? I do notice a huge change in CPU load just my minimising the console

2) I setup port forwarding for external access and setup all the user accounts - when I login external from the network it confirms the user account then redirects me back to the login page - I am unsure if this is just an evaluation thing or is there an issue somewhere else?

3) The cost is quite expensive for a NVR in my opinion and then the mobile apps are additional ( I use android wife uses IOS so that is another decent cost - is there any advantage in using the apps over just using the html5 browser version?

Thanks for any tips!

I don't get charged tax on Agent so in AUD its $60 aud for agent $86 base price for blue iris, +10% tax + conversion fee + $26 for apps = somewhere around $120 for me so its double the price hence the questions if the apps are worth it

I have the mobile app (Android in my case) but I have not used the mobile app since the UI3 Web Browser was released then subsequently integrated into the Blue Iris software package. I don't see the mobile app as being necessary unless for some reason using the web browser is not an option.

1) you dont state the processor. No one can help. Demo mode uses much more resources as because of the overlay.
2) you have something set wrong
3) if 60 bux is "expensive" then go back to your freeware - there is a reason its free. Most vms out there are per camera starting at 50 bux PER camera.

Thanks, I have brought the software, CPU usage has gone from 60-80% to 30-60%, those overlays pay a high cpu price. CPU us an AMD FX-8320 8 core @ 4.7ghz, system has 32gb DDR3 and runs of an SSD with splindle drives for media storage.

Still unsure whats going on with the mobile browser thing, iphone works perfectly, all external browsers work perfectly so I know the network configuration works. On my Samsung galaxy s10+ running chrome I login, the button changes to redirecting .... and goes back to the login screen. ( works perfectly while on wifi / using lan ip via VPN )

Will keep trying to figure it out

You would need to find the optimal Video Driver.

It took me trying about 6 different drivers before finding the right one. Cut my CPU usage buy at least 60%.
