im running new firmware on my ip cameras and NVR, the type that no longer requires a plugin to view. i seem to have an issue though when viewing in browsers. my main streams are in h265 and there is significant delay in the streams. also, trying to use PTZ is near impossible because of the delay.

now if i view the substreams which are h264, there is no delay and even PTZ works fine in the browser.

any idea what is going on? happening to anyone else?

H.265 requires a lot of CPU and/or GPU resources to decode. I think your computer is just too slow.

took your advice and tried it on a gaming pc i built and it works ok. but...

strange that it requires soo much resources that even my core i7 laptop which i purchased in 2018 can't handle it. aren't youtube streams in h265? it works fine with those. never had issues playing back h265 on this laptop before.

also, there's no issue using the smartPSS software and viewing the h265 main stream and using ptz. no delay, everything works fine. wouldn't this mess up if it truly was a PC issue?

YouTube streams are not H.265.

I suppose your browser doesn't support hardware acceleration while other software does. Try another browser or tinker with the settings. Firefox, for example has a setting "Use hardware acceleration when available".
