If you are buying new hardware, you don't need a Xeon for Blue Iris. You'll just end up spending more. Best case scenario you get one with Quick Sync for roughly the same price and performance as the closest i7, and you end up spending more on the motherboard.

If you need super-high-power beyond i9-9900K, then Xeon is still not the answer. AMD is.

I have an i7-3770 3.40Ghz and a Xeon E5-2695V2 2.40GHz
I think I will just do the i7 as it has the Quick Sync capability. The Xeon I have is more for VMware.

Yeah, those CPUs would end up being pretty similar for Blue Iris. The Xeon E5-2695V2 is about 72% faster on paper, but individually its cores are substantially slower and it doesn't have Quick Sync, so the only thing I can tell you for certain is that Xeon would consume more power. LOL
