I have a fairly simple setup.

I current have one Dahua 5231 and will likely be purchasing 3 more for a total of 4 cameras. I have two other ONVIF cameras to conect into the system

I am currently using Security Spy on OSX for capturing but like the DMSS software and store locally on the Dahua 5231.

What would be a good NRV to purchase?

My network switches are already POE so I do not need that capablility.

I would like to view the stop video and jpg images locally and remotely. I would prefer to store everything on my NAS

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,

If you already have the PoE switch, why not get a used PC. You can run either Dahua's OEM VMS SmartPSS or Blue Iris.

I have a Mac/OSX at the house which I am running SmartPSS on. I must not have it installed correctly, because I cannot get the software to store the images on the NAS. I have the camera setup to store them locally but the 5231 does not give me the option of storing locally and on the NAS? Am I missing something?

HI Mark Farber,

I have not tried the Mac OSX version, on the Windows version you can install the components which in effect turn your windows PC into a NVR.

Yep, I don't know what the default is, but it's possible to only install the viewer and not the NVR (storage) component.

Perhaps go through reinstallation?
