I only have 1 Dahua camera connected to 1 Dahua NVR. The camera records our driveway.
I pretty much never do anything with the NVR. Don't log into the webinterface and sporadically use it's HDMI output to watch the live feed on our TV.
It's only there to record the camera 24/7 in case the IVS motion detection missed something or something happened outside it's detection zone (like on the road).
(The camera only records IVS motion events on the SD-card, not 24/7)

Most often, I use a PC to log in to the camera once a day to see if anything happened during the night.
I'm not that interested in daytime recordings since there's almost always someone at home anyway.
I more and more use the Dahua app to do this, since it's a bit easier.

What do you guys do? Maybe also tell us what (kind of) setup you have (number of camera's, Blue Iris or NVR and so on) so we know what and why.

In the mornings I review the triggered clips on the PC running Blue Iris. Mostly I see where the local tom cats transit our property, my aim to reduce false alarms, their aim to hunt and spray their "scent" on our vehicles. This aside, I can see if need to adjust the cameras' trigger configurations in Blue Iris. I also have a Hik NVR which records continuously but here I haven't set up any triggers, alerts, notifications etc.

Currently I like the setup I'm currently using, but if I were working, or away on holiday for several weeks I'd be configuring my system quite differently. I've only 5 cameras currently with another three planned.

You have to ask yourself. what's do you want to achieve from your CCTV system, it might just be to look at the local wildlife, why not? Perhaps instead it was for a different purpose, what is the threat you perceive? Just to know who is coming to your back door?

Currently (4) perimeter cameras on a NVR with push notifications sent to phone on motion triggers. Just cant find the sweet spot so I get way to many false alarms or people can walk right by with the NVR's available motion configurations. My main goal is to be alerted when people are in the immediate vicinity of my home. Currently playing with BI and server is on the way this week. Next I'll probably go for cameras by the entrance for ID.
