The aperture seems to somewhat compensate for lens size

I feel like Dahua is late to the party, have you tried this model? DS-2CD2347G1-L(U)

Its already available and has a f1.0 aperture as well

I'd love to do a comparison but its a pricey model

That's crazy sharp. Frankly, I don't think the new Dahua model will be any better. Probably close, but the Hikvision ColorVu model is widely favored here it seems. Its only good if you have use for the integrated light though. Without the light, close up, its a toss-up. Will really depend on the surrounding light.

Yes i have this camera !

Here with led on , 1/250 exposure and 55% gain.

I do somewhat distrust spec sheets, but that one at least claims to have a 1/1.8" sensor and f1.0 lens together :)

Closer the subject is, the clearer the face will be

picture 1 car is about 40 km/h 1/250 exposure
Picture 2 with led off and only light of the street 1/25 exposure

I'm assuming you're referring to the Hikvision model. Its something I'd like to compare side by side with the 5442 LED model.
