I LMAO about people acting like they are so helpless they can't figure out how to improvise making a facemask. They are like helpless toddlers who need a village to help them from tipping over. Many of these people don't know how to do much of anything themselves in life having to hire a contractor for anything and everything like getting their dog washed, mowing the lawn, cleaning their house, etc. They've pissed away most of their money away paying for services because they don't know shit about anything and fall into that 60 percent category of having less than $1000 in savings.

Here's a tip for some of y'all...try using a vacuum cleaner hepa filter or an a/c MERV-13 air filter to incorporate into your home made mask.

Rant over....for now....

@mat200 I think now they are concerned that countries may panic-buy hydroxychloroquine :(

India Bans All Exports of Trump’s ‘Game Changer’ Virus Drug
Rajesh Kumar Singh, 2 hrs ago

(Bloomberg) -- India banned all exports of hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug that President Donald Trump has touted as a “game changer” in the fight against Covid-19.

Exports of the drug and its formulations are prohibited “without any exceptions” and with immediate effect, India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in an April 4 order on its website. The trade regulator had last month restricted overseas shipments of the drug, allowing only limited exceptions such as on humanitarian grounds and for meeting prior commitments.

Blanket ban on export of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, government withdraws exemptions
By Kirtika Suneja
ET Bureau|Last Updated: Apr 04, 2020, 10.17 PM IST

NEW DELHI: The government on Saturday imposed a blanket ban on the export anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine and its formulations, days after it culled out exceptions for some categories.

“The export of hydroxychloroquine and formulations made from hydroxychloroquine, therefore, shall remain prohibited, without any exception,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

The article does not mention why all these things are banned from export....is the reason because "they" need it for themselves? If so I applaud the move...maybe it'll light a fire under our asses to quit buying shit from all those countries and make it here ourselves.

At this point, I can only guess reason is because they need it for themselves and they're uncertain with the true number of positive cases out there. For a country with over 1.3 billion people, they need extreme measures, enough for a population of 1.3+ billion people. Now this is purely subjective, but India is a democracy whereas China has their communist party. The ideologies between democracy and communism differs greatly.

China CCP bought 2 billion masks and 25 million pieces of PPE clothing in January before they told the world about Covid-19. They were buying and importing all this stuff including from the USA. Now they are "giving" away inferior and substandard product to the world to look like they are heros.

my guess is that India is going to be in a world of hurt soon...

food shortages ( see prior post on this ) + COVID-19 + poor medical infrastructure + lots of people living close to each other + lots of people's "what they eat that night" is based on wages they earned that day.

we're in for a major blow on the global scale on this one... global supply chain is going FUBAR

My whey powder will finally come in good use. The tubs are good for the next couple of years. Just hope my kidneys don't suffer :(

I'm surprised no one shared this one before -->

Hi Sybertiger,

Wow.. hey, got a reference on that one?
Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo...sounded like she was referring to exports documents. But to recheck and clarify she said "national customs inspected" the products I don't know if that was US exports or Chinese customs.... Likely USA because I don't think you could get that info from CCP.

Map to recovery USA only

National
Coronavirus
Response
A ROAD MAP TO REOPENING

..former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Scott Gottlieb and colleagues, doesn’t set a date, but rather outlines the evidence that communities would need to begin lifting some of the more draconian restrictions.
Phase 1: Now
Phase 2: Schools and some other societal functions can resume – may need to return to phase 1.
Phase 3: Lifting all restrictions, only after vaccine available. Est 2 years.
Phase 4: prepare for next time..

Phase 2 - executive summary ( next Phase )
"State-by-State Reopening in Phase II. Individual
states can move to Phase II when they are able to
safely diagnose, treat, and isolate COVID-19 cases
and their contacts. During this phase, schools and
businesses can reopen, and much of normal life can
begin to resume in a phased approach. However,
some physical distancing measures and limitations
on gatherings will still need to be in place to prevent
transmission from accelerating again. For older adults
(those over age 60), those with underlying health
conditions, and other populations at heightened
risk from COVID-19, continuing to limit time in the
community will be important.
Public hygiene will be sharply improved, and deep
cleanings on shared spaces should become more routine. Shared surfaces will be more frequently sanitized,
among other measures. In addition to case-based
interventions that more actively identify and isolate
people with the disease and their contacts, the public will initially be asked to limit gatherings, and people will initially be asked to wear fabric nonmedical
face masks while in the community to reduce their
risk of asymptomatic spread. Those who are sick will
be asked to stay home and seek testing for COVID-19.
Testing should become more widespread and routine as point-of-care diagnostics are fully deployed in
doctors’ offices. .. "

You are so right. A lot of people living paycheck to paycheck squander their hard earned $ by paying for all these services. Expensive cell phones w/ their services are probably the worst, especially Apple products with their expensive proprietary products (very high margins). I see it everyday and shake my head. People need to learn to be more self sufficient, but the population just gets dumber and dumber, not to mention lazy, as time goes on. Want to watch a free movie of what the world looks like in the future, see link below. It is so stupid, it actually looks like it will happen.

This pandemic is only the beginning. There will be more to come unless swift draconian measures are taken in respect to public hygiene. CDC, NIH, and WHO guidelines are not laws to be followed. They're just guidelines in place, recommended, but still voluntary. It would be difficult to put laws into place unless each and every household has big brother watching them through the lens of a camera(s). I bet some of the pundits are already saying there will be another pandemic (in a different shape and form) at the end of this year. This requires global cooperation and making those areas where emerging viruses originate held accountable.

Haha, you literally posted the whole movie. :thumb:  This is a movie to be taken seriously in-spite of how funny it presents itself. I strongly encourage everyone to watch.

Pretty soon we will have a case emerging out of Antarctica and penguins will be blamed

They probably did it in retaliation to Trump attempting to prevent 3M from shipping N95 masks outside of USA.

There were companies here buying up as if they were private buyers, consolidating, then exporting.
Apparently, this all started in January while CCP was still downplaying the virus. To start a conspiracy story....I wonder if CCP doesn't even need these materials as they already make 50% of the world supply of masks; perhaps they are waging war on the world to prevent the rest of us from getting this under control. It's a perfect strategy that is effective, relatively cheap and doesn't involve deployment of soldiers and equipment to wage war. CCP is single handedly destroying economies and infrastructures. For CCP to be imported the "quality" PPE and handing out inferior products certainly makes me wonder.

What us actually worse is that even if we decided to make our own Hydroxychloriquine we probably lack the raw materials to do so. If we are cut off of raw materials it'll take quite a bit of time to get in a position to manufacture product.

Despite guidance from the CDC I'm still reading on other forums people saying that wearing a mask is a waste of time and only makes you look stupid at the grocery store.
