Corona virus is spreading all over the world, and so we're all forced to stay home. Here in Poland all shopping centers, schools, kindergarten, playgrounds, etc. are closed. So, together with my wife, we have to find way, to do our regular job, and take care of children. It is time consuming and exhausting. To de-stress I thought, I'll dismount most of my cams and conduct a night time comparison. The weather conditions were encouraging, as there was clear sky and full moon. So here is what came if it. Have a good time and take care, all of you.

Nice comparison. Thank you. I draw the same conclusion from this than with my own side-by-side testing: That the 5442's image is clearly superior to that of the 2MP starlights with the IMX290 sensor. In a couple of the scenes the 4239 with the IMX327 sensor might have the edge in parts of the image but overall the 5442 is clearly at the top of the heap. Makes me glad I didn't replace my chinese market cameras sooner and be "stuck" with a lot of the 2MP starlights. Anything I get now will use the 1/1.8" IMX347.

Does the defined separation of a pronounce supplemental light effect the sensors abilities to perform in the low light situation or is there a setting that can overcome this?

Yep, our hobbies will save us from getting too preoccupied with this man-made virus.

Clearly, the 4mp model wins :D By the way, you seem to be blending in with the trees, ghost-like appearance :p Were these settings all at default?

@Arjun Everything not mentioned in the description was set to default. So all image settings were at 50% value. Noise reduction was also set to 50%.
@Riclyo What do you mean? Can you please rephrase the question?

Sorry I'll try my best to explain
In your video half of the frame is illuminated by the full moon is it?
I was wondering if because there is a good amount of light on the right side of the frame does this have any effect on the cameras ability to focus or clarity of the subject on dark side?
I have 2 locations where the camera view is 1/2 lit by a artificial light and in my observations the camera seems to provide less detail when the subject moves to the darker area of the cameras view.

I think this is kind of self explanatory :) Your eyes work the same way. The less light you have, the less detail and color you see. At very low light levels you can only distinguish shapes and no color (due to human eye structure, first you lose ability to distinguish color). Additionally the noise reduction algorithm in camera will alter dark areas of the image more than brighter areas. It will blend everything that is faint and with low contrast. That's why, when I enter shadow area, in some cases I almost disappear like a ghost :)
