What about the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? Should that be upgraded with this firmware also?

Also the following?

IPC-HDBW4231FP-AS
IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E is using different FW, just watch on the list that i posted.
Also the following?------YES, suits for these 2.
IPC-HDW5431R-ZE
IPC-HDBW4231FP-AS

I recently got 5231R-ZE and didn't get a chance to update firmware yet. Can i directly install this update? If not, please give links for prior firmware updates so I can do one after another

I highly HIGHLY recommend you reboot your device before running the update. I've seen many failures in updating when I forgot to first reboot, and never get a failure (with good firmware) when updating after a simple reboot. If you have your cameras set to reboot daily, this may not be such a big deal, but don't try updating if your camera has been running for weeks without a reboot.

It's also good to make a backup of your settings before updating, and I've seen backups fail if the camera hasn't recently been rebooted.

I have updated three of my cameras and so far they're good.

I reset all to default/reboot/upgrade and set my settings again.

2- HDW5231R-ZE
1- HDW4231EM-AS

Will wait and monitor these before doing the rest.

I tried to upgrade after reboot but it didn't work. So i followed your method and then web gui showed upgrading and a progress bar. And then boom web site couldn't be reached. I thought its restarting. Waited for some time but can't login using same ip . And dont get any ping response either. I disconnected power to POE switch (accessible quickly) and reconnected after a minute. Now it shows an ip not in my dhcp range. And I cant login to that new adreess either. Any thoughts?

That is great, but please Don't show any S/N No. on the screenshot, not safe. Just delete the pic.
I've been wondering for a long time why serial numbers are blotted out in pictures that are posted, so it's a good time to ask....
What's the danger of revealing the serial numbers?

The serial number is what is used for P2P connections. If you have your camera behind a firewall it isn't much risk, but otherwise people could try to login to your camera with the serial number.
