Gentle, I’m hoping someone can give me a hand or at least point me in the right direction. I bought a couple SD49225T-HN from Andy at Empire. The cameras are amazing. They are perfect for their intended purpose. I have one mounted on a 16’ tall pole overlooking a service busy truck stop. I have it set to slowly pan in a preset pattern and it seems to be working flawlessly. I am however having a couple issues that I can’t seem to figure out as of yet. I’m Running Blue Iris V5 on an i7-8600 windows 10 dedicated tower. The build has 16gb of Ram and was built entirely built us in by the info from this site. My issue is that for whatever reason I can’t seem to control the camera through the browser interface. From the console I can pan and zoom without an issues, however when I log in via a browser and use the new UI interface, none of the controls work. I’m pretty sure it’s a configuration issue however I dont know what. I have it set up as a “Dahua PTZ” camera as that is the only settings that I’ve come across that actually let me control it. I’ve tried to leave the model blank and let blue Iris choose it’s detected model but it just chooses “Generic” and gives me half the control as opposed to the control that I get by using Dahua as the model. Anyone can tell me what am I missing? I’ve checked the users options and the permissions all seem to be correct....

Does the BI user that is login via UI3 have authorization to use PTZ ?

In the BI option look at the user tab, click edit...

If @SouthernYankee 's suggestion bears no fruit, try using "Dahua NEW" in BI's camera "properties", " PTZ" tab. I had to use that to get 2 of my Amcrest (Dahua-rebrand) PTZs to work from BI.
BTW, I'm using v4, so maybe it's different with v5, just offering that up.
FWIW, I tested it using UI3 from another PC on the LAN and the PTZ controls work fine as well as the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT cursor control arrows on the keyboard.

Yes the user has permissions. That was my initial thought as well. No dice. I even created a fresh new account to test, got nothing.
Just tried again using Dahua New as the selected camera, nope. I'm sure it's a minor configuration issue but I just don't know what.
Thanks for the suggestions though. I'll try just about anything at this point.

I'm realize that I'm replying to an old post but wanted to thank TonyR for his suggestion of using Dahua New in Blue Iris properties PTZ tab. That was the info. that I needed.

I doubt anyone is reading this old thread, but I did manage to get it working. Seems as if the camera itself has two completely separate sets of user accounts. The standard “admin” account which is used to login to the camera via the web interface, and a completely different set of Onvif credentials used for everything Onvif related. After I created a set of credentials for the new “Onvif” user and loaded them up in Blue Iris, I was then able to control the camera via the web interface. What’s odd is that I could control the camera through the console without needing those credentials, but they wouldn’t work through the web UI without em. Doesn’t make any sense but I got it to work which is all that matters. Thanks guys for the assist.

Can you expand on where you entered the Onvif account? I am currently having trouble with the same camera. Actually I have always had trouble with it. I only get intermittent control of PTZ with it. From any source, be it the server, the app, or UI3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to login to the camera directly using your browser (ie works best) to its web interface. It’ll been awhile so this is all from memory, but it’s a sub tab in one of the menus. Probably the “accounts” menu. I actually meant to post an update to this thread but things have been pretty hectic lately. While the Onvif account method did work for a bit, it did revert itself back to its old behavior. In the end, it ended up being an issue with its firmware. Once that was done, full control was restored and working as it should. Great camera once it works as it should, until that happened I was pulling out my hair in frustration since it was so random and hard to troubleshoot. Update your firmware and you’ll be Gucci.

Ok - updating firmware now. Out of curiosity, what selections are you using for your video make and model (Im using Dahua, *Main Stream RTSP) and for PTZ I am using Dahua New V5. My edit button is greyed out on the PTZ tab, so I am not sure where I would enter the ONVIF login that I created?

Thanks for your help.

Those credentials are the ones you use when setting it up in blue iris. Everything else defaulted.

Also - looks like my firmware was already up to date. Is this what you are running?

System Version2.623.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2018-11-24
PTZ Version3.02.93.RHNZ_170518_22722

No idea. It was an install for a customer. Now it’s on a 16’ pole overlooking a truck stop. Been awhile. It was definitely a firmware issue though. It didn’t self update, I had to manually upload the file to the camera.

Ok. Sounds good. I updated the firmware manually from their downloads section. For anyone reading this and needing help, my new firmware is the below:

System Version2.623.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2018-11-24
PTZ Version2.301.0000000.22.RHNZ_190923_33333

Looks like my camera rolled back the PTZ firmware from the Dahua website? Not sure that makes a ton of sense. Either way, I am using "Dahua *Main Stream RTSP" for my video config and "Dahua New V4" for my PTZ config and it seems to be working. Time will tell if it holds up.

Funny that you posted today of all days. I actually was just thinking that I needed to work my way out to this site to install a new viewing station. Not sure exactly when, but sometime in the next week or so I’ll be headed there. I’ll be logging into everything while I’m there to change settings and j stall new cards, so I’ll pull a backup of it’s configuration in case you should still need it.
