So I left Windows XP SP2 and went over to Apple in 2006. I know that I said on this forum that I would use Linux or Apple before Windows but difficulty with miniDSP on my Mac prompted me to purchase Windows 10 Home. After installing 10 I found that my old Dell monitor, that has a DVI -> HDMI adapter, just didn't cut it. Initially I was thinking "Wow, this looks horrible. This is what Microsoft has been doing in 14 years?" After connecting my OptiPlex 7040 to my 50" plasma screen via HDMI I see that it wasn't the OS but my hardware. So now I'm in the process of purchasing Blue Iris.

Haha, VISTA "Nearly every former Vista user dares not utter Vista's name and refers to Vista as "BSOD", "Blue Screen of Death"

Boy, did YOU dodge a bullet....named "Vista"! :highfive:

Yeah, I did a boot up repair on a XP Home SP3 machine last week for a realtor (it was in the boot up "repair", "last known config that works", etc. loop)....he has a program that you enter all the distances between points of even a polygon-shaped piece of property and it would calc the acreage...that's all he did with it and that program wouldn't run on Win 10 (he said). He has a Win 10 machine for Word, Quickbooks, etc.

You'd think I'd given him a million bucks when I called to tell him it was fixed.

I have an insurance agency that still has Novel netware running.
We changed him over to a web GUI last year, pulling from the same database.
This year we moved the database over to Access, but used the same GUI, works great and a ton faster, and the old Windoze 98se is gone!
