Hi All,

About a month ago, I disconnected my front camera to inspect it for any moisture as it was having issues with a scratchy microphone. When I remounted it I decided to flip it 180 degrees. I then updated and saved the settings on the camera after flipping the image. All was good for about a week and now, every week the image flips back to it's original orientation. I have 2 other cameras of the same model without issues. I have had this camera for a number of years and this is the first issue I have had with it. It happens whether I configure it on the camera, or via my Synology Surveillance Center. Should I factory default the camera and try again or is there something else going on?

Device TypeIPC-HDW5231R-Z
System Version2.622.0000000.18.R, Build Date: 2017-11-10
WEB Version3.2.1.515090
ONVIF Version16.12(V2.4.1.510971)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you tried a different web browser? Don't use your Synology Surveillance Center to configure camera settings, always use the Camera's Web UI

I've tried both methods and neither method keeps the setting. As soon as the camera reboots, it reverts back.

Try re-flashing firmware, perform factory reset, then set settings again using only Dahua's Web UI, just use the Synology system to connect to the camera

Have you tried to perform a manual restart of the camera via its menu after saving the settings to check if the configuration is also lost that way?

True, just physically turn the camera around. Obviously, there is a gremlin in the firmware that still requires attention; perhaps even try updating the firmware. Some of these settings are stubborn, there is no doubt about that.

Why is the camera rebooting?

I would use the 're-flashing the firmware' as a last resort. Why not just turn the cam back around and not flip it 180?
