Hello,
I'm running into an issue where the "Alerts" tab in BI (and BI mobile app) is empty. When I switch to the "All" or "New" tab, then I can see all the recordings but just not Alerts. How can I get "Alerts" working again?

PC Desktop i5-4690 .50ghz
RAM 16.00 and only using 1 camera

Why do you think you have alerts? Do you have motion detection configured in BI. Are you sure it tripped.

I get alerts empty when a camera has no motion configured.

select the camera right click, select click trigger now. Does it show an alert ?
do you have today selected on the calendar ?

Yes I have motion detection configured which does triggered and record...does it also need to show in the "Alerts" tab? Example on the mobile app, under alerts shows empty and when I go back to the pc, it also shows empty in Alerts unless I switch to "new" or All"

BI ver. 5.3.3.16 x64 (11/15/2020)

Below are my settings for "clips and archiving" (F drive is 931GB)

Make sure you've selected "Alerts" in the new drop down list both on the BI console and in UI3 (if you're using UI3). If you happened to click, accidentally, on"ONVIF" of something else it might be the problem.

Did you test with manual creating a "triggered now" alert as described above.
I most cases the alert folder is not used. Alerts are just database entries.

I appreciate your help guys....checked the settings you guys mentioned above and triggered the camera and still nothing....so weird, the alerts were working before and stopped 1-2 weeks ago. When I get the notification on my phone, I click on the BI notification 5-10mins after but it takes me to the live feed, and under Alerts it's empty....how am I suppose to see the triggered motion I missed on my phone? on the BI console, I can view them by changing the view to "All" then add the date just fine (Alerts still empty as well).

To rebuild the database delete all the files in the c:\BlueIris\db folder. Reboot the BI computer. BI will completely rebuild the database. The only thing you will loose are the alerts. You will not loose the video files.

After you have done that provide full screen shots
1) Blue iris status (lighting bolt graph, upper left corner) clip storage tab
2) the camera properties record tab.
3) the AUX1 data from clips and archiving.

@sebastiantombs - yes tried that few days ago.

@SouthernYankee - Did the steps you mention and "Alerts" is empty. Per your request, I've included the screenshots below...

I clicked on the "repair db" since it was showing zero kb, now showing 18.4m

this is not part of the alerts problem but you need to rethink the allocation on the f drive. Make the F drive the new folder. There is absolutely no reason to have multiple video storage folders on a single drive.

I would also recommend that you go o continuous recording for the time being. Not "When Triggered"

===========================

My Standard allocation post.

1) Do not use time (limit clip age)to determine when BI video files are moved or deleted, only use space. Using time wastes disk space.
2) If New and stored are on the same disk drive do not used stored, set the stored size to zero, set the new folder to delete, not move. All it does is waste CPU time and increase the number of disk writes. You can leave the stored folder on the drive just do not use it.
3) Never allocate over 90% of the total disk drive to BI.
4) if using continuous recording on the BI camera settings, record tab, set the combine and cut video to 1 hour or 3 GB. Really big files are difficult to transfer and read.
5) it is recommend to NOT store video on an SSD (the C: drive).
6) Do not run the disk defragmenter on the video storage disk drives.
7) Do not run virus scanners on BI folders
8) an alternate way to allocate space on multiple drives is to assign different cameras to different drives, so there is no file movement between new and stored.
9) Never use an External USB drive for the NEW folder. Never use a network drive for the NEW folder.

Advanced storage:
If you are using a complete disk for large video file storage (BVR) continuous recording, I recommend formatting the disk, with a windows cluster size of 1024K (1 Megabyte). This is a increase from the 4K default. This will reduce the physical number of disk write, decrease the disk fragmentation, speed up access.
Hint:
On the Blue iris status (lighting bolt graph) clip storage tab, if there is any red on the bars you have a allocation problem. If there is no Green, you have no free space, this is bad.

Good, but I think we found a bug: no alert list picture should not lead to an empty alert list, just an alert list without pictures.
