Hello forum, I have an NVR 4216-i here.
I have 8 cameras on the NVR and now I wanted to use some of the AI features of the NVR. I use IVS from the recorder on one channel and FD on another channel. (only 2 "AI" Features from NVR!)

If I want to enter another IVS rule, the recorder writes "Reached max capability of AI analysis"

So my question is: How many AI features can I use with the NVR4216-i?
And what exactly are they?

I assumed I can use "4 channel, 10 IVS rules for each channel" according to the data sheet and at least "2 channel video stream face recognition".
But that doesn't work for me. Is the firmware buggy or am I making a mistake?

Thanks for your help. :) Michael

Here can you find the datasheet:

Edit:

I also have an NVR5216-i. With this I can use FD via NVR for 3 channels and 4 or more IVS rules. (not more testet)

That is more than the NVR4216-i but not as much as mentioned in the data sheet. I don't understand any of this ... o_O

4 channels perimeter detection - AI by NVR
Face Recognition - 8 channels - FR by NVR, FD by camera
Face Rec - 1 channel - FR and FD by NVR
SMD - 8 channels

Hi, I have the same issue with DH-NVR-608-32-4KS2 (New Firmware)
After adding 2 Tripwires by Recorder, it gives the same error of "Reached max capability of AI analysis".
Have you found the source of problem and solution?

4 channel AI IVS OR 2 channel FD&FR...

FD&FR is most demanding for AI performance = so using even on one channel You use minimum 50% of AI performance...

Not too much AI power left for IVS or SMD (is SMD enabled? it counts in AI perf usage)...

Disable FD&FR and You can use AI IVS on 4 channels...

I also have an NVR5216-i. With this I can use FD via NVR for 3 channels and 4 or more IVS rules. (not more testet)
On 5216-I you can use 4 channels for FD&FR (so 25% AI perf usage for one channel) or 16 channels for IVS (so 6.25% AI perf usage for one channel)...
3 * 25 + 4 *6.25 = 75% + 25% = 100%...

5216-I is Pro AI series and probably is only limited by SOC (CPU) performance (no hardcoded limits in firmware)...
Some people reports that they have bigger limits as specified in spec...

4216-I is Lite AI series and is limited by slower SOC and probably by firmware (hardcoded limits even if SOC can support more) because it's Lite series (it must be worst from Pro series)...

Hello Steve1225, thank you very much for your great explanation.

You have helped me a lot with that and it makes sense. :D

I have another question for Steve1225 or whoever can answer it. ;)

How much AI perf usage power does SMD need?

Thanks!
