On your computer just for a test adjust the computer time and than sync the camera. I'm just curious to see if the embedded NTP server will auto correct that incorrect computer time.
I set the pc to +1 hour resynced the time and it updated it to the new pc time of +1hour

Good, so you can change it to 3+ minutes to compensate for the offset. Just leave the NTP off because it will obviously change it back to what ever.

Thought I'd leave it at +1 hour for a bit and see if it still loses the 3 minutes, if it does I'll correct the time than add 3 minutes as you suggest many thanks for your help

No worries and follow up as to what the vendor does or doesn't to help. Everyone likes to read about a happy ending - Cheers! :headbang:

What's happened now is after logging into the app then logging out leaving it for bit and logging back in on the app the time has been changed by one hour and 3 minutes. So it doesnt look like its working on uk time

Does the smart application offer the ability to set time zone / DST?

It does but when I tried to change that early it reverted back to London. I'll try it again see if I can get it to change the the time zone

Ok we have success with changing the time zone. I'll try logging in the app and out again and then leave it a short while and log in and see if its lost the 1 hour and 3 mins againScreenshot_20210218-214108_Chrome.jpg

If it works, not an ideal fix but at least it won't drive your OCD over the hill! :lmao:

That is when the system will reach out to the defined NTP server and update the internal clock of the video camera.

So far so good I'm still set at Amsterdam time zone showing plus 1 hour I can cope with that it's the minus 3 minutes plus change that makes it awkward to watch the sd card playback to find the event. I haven't checked what time the nvr records for this device yet there's another challenge for another day lol

Spoke too soon that's the camera time back to uk minus 3 minutes again. Looks like theres a little man in China sat behind his server key board laughing at us poor English gits.

Depending upon the NVR hardware some allow the system time vs camera hardware time / both. Given, you already have other higher quality cameras in use the three minutes is easy to compensate for when reviewing historic data. Lastly, I have to affirm its important to validate if this camera indeed has a RTC inside. You'll know by unplugging the camera for a few hours and than booting it back up.

Keep the NTP off and don't sync it to the computer time and observe if the date & time is some random value. If it shows the same date and time with the 1 hour 3 minute error than the camera has one even if not accurate.

I believe the problem is the smart application vs web interface is forcing the change. You can also enable DST to compensate by selecting a value that will offset the hour.

I'm back to the 3 minute error now I'll power it down tomorrow day time for a few hours and see what it comes up with time wise on the app when I reboot. Looks like the server clock in China may be wrong then ?
