I prewired this Home 4 years ago for security, which will have over 160 hardwired zones, 42 Ip cameras inside and out, 18 rooms of audio/video, 16 WAP's. also lutron lighting control system, dedicated home theater. another 2 months and this should be wrapped up. I'll be spending about a week or two repairing wire that the drywallers, carpenters, and everyone else that cut my fucking cables! But this was expected because of how long this job has lasted. Homeowner has dumped almost 6 million into this joint!

I am not even close to done. this was done td
ladder racking between the 2 cabinets + attached to the wall? I'm a big advocate of 3 point earth quake proofing network 2 & 4 post racking. Plus, might hide some of those free air'd power cables :)
Wiring trays will be installed after all equipment is installed in the rack. the racks are almost empty at this point. only have a switch for the wap;s powered up and a Few power conditioners. Next week I will be installing 16 D’Agostino Classic Stereo amps for the rooms in the house, control 4 system to control everything. I want to get the alarm fired up before the amps are installed. these things are expensive so gotta protect them well! after install is complete all wire will be neatly organized, re- labled and secured. The homeowner may have walls built around it. not sure at this point. HVAC guys have a vent going in above the racks to keep everything cool. The racks are bolted to the floor with 1/2 lags and will not be moving anytime soon.

we take care of celebrity/musician multi-million dollar homes for phone systems, audio/video, and network related (the joy of living near Lake Tahoe). You are lucky this homeowner cares about racking & HVAC. Usually, they only care about how it looks in their family room or guest rooms but leave a single hanging 40watt light bulb with no HVAC in the IT room with that one other vendor who messes up all the wiring.

same here, I have a lot of high end clients in my area. The owner knows his shit!. It is so nice to work with a client that knows exactly what he wants. The theater we are installing is off the charts! I will post pics of that next week. not much installed yet but ill post more as I get deeper into it

I will be posting more pics as soon as more equipment is installed. Some of the contractors are still working in the house and I do not want to take a chance on anything walking away. The homeowner has invested 800k into the equipment so far. Which is not including the equipment for the theater

Any updates? Looking for those sweet sweet photos
I've done a few million dollar home installs but nothing this level.
This has been a slow moving installation, I have finished installing the security system which ended up being 218 zones, every point of entry is protected, interior devices include motions, glass breaks, smokes, heats, CO, natural gas, water, temperature. Everything came together great after we repaired all of the wiring that had been damaged. The audio is almost up and running .all the Sonos amps are installed and now waiting for more equipment that is back ordered to arrive to finish up the audio that is installed in every room of the house. Have no idea how long will take. Home theater is also almost finished. equipment is installed just waiting for the custom made candy counters, popcorn machine and a few other goodies for the bar area right outside of the theater. I have some pics on my ipad that were recently taken, which I left on another job. Ill post a few more pics early this coming week. this job has been a lot of fun. Not very often when a client says they want full home control, security, theater and when you send them a quote and you get a response back in less than 5 min giving you the go ahead to start the job! gotta love that.
Tomorrow we are starting a small 12 Camera IP system in a high rise condo. cameras cover the entrance and exist to parking garage, guard shack, foyer, pool area. Ill post some pics of that as the job gets under way.

Awesome stuff. Out of curiosity, I'm guessing it's all top of the line movie theater equipment.

I am looking at some vary entry level stuff including a murantz avr and a couple amplifiers for my living room to run 7.2.4 atmos.

Our biggest jobs had about 100k in materials for the multi million dollar houses but that was also 5yrs ago when stuff was cheaper.
Only did a couple smaller theaters more home game rooms where we installed ceiling drop down screens. We did more security and data, and commercial audio than anything else.

I couldn't imagine trying to do anything right now with supply issues and increasing prices across all boards.

Appreciate it and look forward to seeing how it comes out.

will love to see some pictures, interesting project. Which automation controller you will be using to communicate with the subsystems?
As far as automation ill be using Crestron controllers for the theater and control 4 for the full house audio. Which will control the Sonos amps for each room and the TV's throughout the house. And it will also control the automated plant watering system which is throughout the home.

Nice to see/hear there are some people still out there that wish to do things right in their home.

I spy only one 24 port panel, guessing there's an IDF or an ethernet rack elsewhere? Even in this age of wireless, I would think there would be far more ethernet cabling in a 16k SF building.

@Robert hocevar, does this project reflect your (preferred) choices for AV & home automation controllers?
